Fella's;

It seems as though I'm no longer going to be qualified to participate on the site. SWMBO said: "Thou mayest have only one (bleeping) motorcycle in the garage at one time!" Therefore, the 1981 CB900F is being passed to my son. Which isn't an entirely bad thing from the board's point of view I suppose. The bike will be moving from the wilds of Outer Montana to an east coast location. As my son is interested in racing, participating in track days, and performance motorcycles in general, I'm sure that the bike will be able to be seen by more members of the board in the Atlantic time zone. I'll be sure to inform him that he should join this site & participate, particularly with pictures.

But, the reason the CB had to move on is that it's being replaced with a 2011 Ducati 848 EVO black from Fast By Ferraci. I called upon some old racing connections & did get a deal. So, a bittersweet goodby and WOO-HOO!!

Fella's;

I see the children have chimed in, witness the comments about growing balls and being pussy whipped. Making comments like that without knowing all the facts tends to make the adults shake their heads & wish their parents would put them to bed.

Ya know, I bought the bike new in 1981 & had the wife for nine years at that time. We seem to get along alright & it's scarin' the hell outta the fortieth wedding anniversary already with a little over a year to go.

Computer programmers and I don't get along. Therefore, I no longer attempt pictures on the web. I mean, it's all supposed to be 1's and 0's, right? Hell, I can copy & paste entire books if I want to. But, for some strange and arcane reason, the 1's and 0's that comprise an image need to be treated very differently than the 1's and 0's that are really what I'm typing now. This has led me to believe that all programmers should be beaten once a day every day whether you know what they did or not. We'll try to talk my son into posting pictures of the bike. I'm too busy stalking programmers.

I think I can break in the Duc just fine by myself, but I don't begrudge you for tryin' Jjam. Breakin' in the cops around here may try my patience though.

Cheers! 1025F

CB1025F

Two things

Don't be a stranger. There are more than one members who have moved on to different/newer bikes that still come back and enjoy the fun.

The guys who protested the loudest re: SWMBO. A lot of times they are in that boat AND far out to sea. It's generally taken as humor, inside joke among married men. My SWMBO is pretty cool for most things. (I keep this up I'm gonna end up like Sigh) - just sometimes you end up locking horns over an issue (too many bikes is common here). It's a way of blowing off steam.

A few people actually have sincere relationships that this joke doesn't fit into. I actually know a few couples that don't roll their eyes about what the ol' lady or the ol' man has got cooked up this week. It's interesting, how do thy do it?

Congrats on the new bike. By the way, at my house, it is "SWMNNBOBWMBCBITEMUBOA".

(She Who Must Not Necessarily Be Obyed But Who Must Be Considered But In The End Must Usually Be Obeyed Anyway).

Dude, having been a "former owner" qualifies you just as much as those who wander in here, and then move on to a different ride. I bet you still get to wrench on your sons bike!

You hang with us, OK?

Ride Safely!

(saw Dave's comment below, and it reminded me that I joined well before I got my 9, I was in the "wannabe" category!)

Good luck CB1025. If I could joke a little, I'd say Good Duc!!! Twisted Evil Congrats!! Cool Cool

Maybe you can get a storage locker and hide the bike from SWMBO but keeping it in the family is also really cool.

Don't get bothered by the others statements, I think it was just some ribbing going on.

Anyway, I call my wife of 30 years; WTLMLWH (Woman That Lets Me Live With Her).

Take Care and just remember.......... you will always be a "Closet F'er" so that qualifies you to hang out here!!!

beerchug

ZGrand;

I gotta kick outta that one!

Fella's, I'm in Montana, the bike is moving about 1900 miles further east. I'm going to lose contact with it. Since I passed my sixtieth birthday, I've lost the ability to teleport. Nuthin' to be done about it, that's just the way it is.

However, in compensation, the Duc is going to become a member of the family.

From the board's point of view, as I said, the transfer is a good thing. My son can post photo's of the bike. Provided he heeds my advice & joins this board, it's entirely possible that he'll participate in east coast rides. If any of you go to track days at whatever the track it is in N.J. that the AMA superbike races are held at, it's entirely possible that you'll be able to meet both him & the bike.

I've posted this before, but here's a synopsis of what this particular CB900F is. Engine: Built by Dennis Zickrick HRC with Wiseco domed pistions, a touch over 1000cc's, cammed, ported head, HRC endurance racer valve train, mods done to the cam chain adjusters, Falicon crank, Mikuni VM33-A4 smoothbores, pods, Barnett clutch, Yosh pipe - with sensor ports, modded crank vent system, and Dyna coils. Chassis: swingarm modded by Beaver Enderle, braided steel brake lines, Ferodo pads, Works Performace shocks, fork springs replaced with progressives, Honda rearset kit, BMW R90S bars, Honda of Italy racing solo saddle, and Bridgstone Battlax BT45 tires.

With an 18 tooth countershaft sprocket, it'll run into the 160's without a problem. Also with the 18 countershaft sprocket, an 8500 rpm launch will power lift the front & carry it for about 50 yards depending on traction & other factors.

Cosmetically, it's not in concours condition, but don't pick it unless your bike can run hard.
