A number of folks have asked me if I was still powder coating, since I no longer own any DOHC Hondas and am selling off my parts. The answer is a resounding YES! I have been keeping busy in the shop powder coating all sorts of parts, ranging from motorcycles, ATV's, Corvairs, Ford Model A's, Subaru WRX's, etc. Down below is a pic of just part of a large job I'm working on for a guy who owns at least ten 1100F's.
The best time to have me do your parts is during the cold months - between November and late March. I do PC work year round, but cut back in the warmer months so I can ride and have fun outdoors.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me for the past 16+ years! |

10 x 1100F's ??? 😲
I could understand a few 1100F's, in a garage of multiple different bikes. After all, if N = the number of bikes I own, the number of bikes I NEED = N+1.
Bikes for different types of riding and different seasons. You've only got 1 ass.
So I'm intrigued, why 10+ of the same bike? Any idea? |

I think he plans to restore and flip some of them. But unless you do most of the work yourself, it's hard to make a profit on any of these restorations, unless it's a highly sought-after bike.
Or it could just be an obsession! |

Because of your work, many of our bikes are "rolling art". Thanks for what you do! |

Even if you do most of the work yourself, it'll be hard to make a profit. I know I've spent more than my bike is worth just in keeping it roadworthy.
I'm chasing down my charging / R/R burnout problem. The R/R's are not regulating, I get too much voltage at my battery, until the R/R burns out.
The regulating side is the black and white wires from the R/R back to the rotor. I've just fitted new carbon brushes and holder.
I fitted a new rotor only a couple of thousand miles ago. The only thing left is a new stator, which is the only way to change those two wires.
(Those two wires are inside a braided cover. There is no chance of feeding new wires through)
That stator has been there since I bought my bike, in '97. I expect it's original, so it and those wires are 46 years old, and therefore suspect.
Changing the whole system is in the region of £800. My bike is worth £2500 at most, over here.
There's zero profit in it. Not that I care about profit. It's miles and smiles |
