I'm all for gloss paint, to me anything other than gloss is primer. Ed |

I have noticed the matte color schemes on the new Ducatis and think they look fantastic..very creative.
To transfer that to an F bike wouldn't work in my eye. CTluba has matte black. The way his bike sits it looks really nice.
But for mine it will be base coat clear coat gloss. |

I think if done right they have personality, im not a big fan of solid matte black paint jobs, but ive seen some multicolored that were quite appealing |

The beast came from South Carolina with a flat black paint job, but I like this much better: |

I reckon it depends on whether one is speaking of some rattle can job hiding a myriad of problems or something done to suit your own taste |

Not for my cb1100f but looking at a 2018 FJR. Yamaha did the matte/satin look. |

I guess I'm old school. I like my paint shiny. |

Well one good thing is one may do as he pleases with his or her own bike. The bike above was matte the new build is shiney with a strong nod to stock paint theme. Completion looking like 2-3 weeks now, depending on honeydo list. |

I've never been a fan of the matte paint job. Especially black. Unless it's clean, it LOOKS dirty. More so if you have black wheels.
Glossy paint is easier to clean as well. |
