This morning I was contacted by Chris Landrigan, younger brother of fellow 1100F Forum member Tom Landrigan, aka "Toonces." He wanted to let me know that Tom passed away on July 7. He was diagnosed with lung cancer a year ago and fought it hard for as long as he could. Unfortunately, things finally took a turn for the worst and at only 57 years old, he passed.
Tom and I met several times when he came by to drop off or pick up parts that I powder coated for his 900F project. He bought the bike new, rode it for many years, and was in the process of finishing up a full restoration. What a nice guy - he was always so upbeat and complimentary, with such a love for our F's. We often talked about taking a ride together around the Wachusett Reservoir, one of my favorite routes, but we never got around to it.
Very shortly before he passed away, Tom gave Chris my name and number and suggested he contact me. Chris, who is also an avid motorcyclist, now owns the bike and plans to finish it. Tom gave him my name so that he'd have someone local to help him with the project. (That has got to be one of the ultimate compliments in my life.) Of course I will help him finish what will now be a tribute build to Tom, a really nice man who was taken away much too young.

Tom, Thanks for letting us know, may he RIP. Of Course, if there's any way we can help with the build, help is only a phone call/text/email away.
Vay Con Dios, Toonces! |

Thanks for letting us know, I never met toonces but did end up with his original 900f engine by way of beneberle and had more than few conversations as I learned my way around these bikes.

If there is interest I would be proud to collect donations for the Littleton Community Farm or his brother (to help finish up the bike) as a memorial from all the forum members. |

Thanks for letting us all know Tom. I never met the man, but you can tell a person's character by their posts. By all accounts, Toonces was a good guy with good advice and willing to help out fellow F'rs. 57 is WAY too fucking young to check out!!
Ride in Peace bud!!

Ain't none of us getting out of this alive, but cancer is a terrible way to go. |

Great ideas Rick. I would like to help his brother Chris finish up the bike and hopefully get him to come on a NE ride with us. He'll be in touch with me again soon and at that point I can determine what will be needed/involved in finishing up the 900F. |
