Anyone had any issues with the head gasket which Cruizinimage supplies with their 900F big bore kit?

I would say yes based on this recent thread from last year:

http://www.cb1100f.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=78675&highlight=cruizinimage

Didn't end nicely so it may still be an issue with the CI-supplied gaskets.

Thanks for that link Sillygoose- I didn't realise that there had been such an intensive discussion on this topic. I have just fitted Cruizinimage's big bore kit to my 900F & went through exactly the same issue of an ill fitting head gasket. After several attempts to contact Mitsuo I've got no response hence I'm not going to waste any further time down that road- will just get another 985cc gasket from a different source. Rolling Eyes

Yes.

I've posted before, seems like CI uses a 2% shrink machine to manufacture gaskets.

My research shows me that I have some choices for a big bore (67.5mm) head gasket; Wiseco, Cometic or Forseti (Australia)- all similarly priced & available. What's the general consensus? Having just done a frame up resto of my '81 900F Boldor I now have to pull the motor out of the frame again to remove the head & replace the Cruzinimage gasket- I want to do this just one more time & not again Head Banger

I'll call Wiseco tomorrow, and will use the CI gasket to decorate the wall in my basement...

I have a feeling forsetti are same manufacturer as cruzinimage.

I'm fairly certain that Cometic makes the gaskets for Wiseco.

The 2 companies are only 15 minutes apart in Ohio. Their packaging is identical and the products look identical.

If I were Wiseco and my business was making pistons, it would be to my benefit to stick with what I do and just buy the parts I need from my neighbor that specializes in that industry.

Anyone have definitive knowledge?

I am pretty sure you are correct.

I have my own brand of copper base and head gaskets. $56.00 buys a .043" thick head gasket and I have base gaskets in .005", .008", .016" and .020".
I also have different thicknesses on base spacer plates for the guys that are doing short stroke motors and using the longer 1100 rods.

If I'm out of the size you need? It only takes 7 to 10 days and I have more.

Email me at jesawtellbuilt@gmail.com if interested?

Peace, Jim
