My boy and I just powdered coated two valve covers and I was wondering what you guys thought of the colors. The first one is Platinum and the second one is Cast Aluminum . Both colors are from Eastwood. In the double pictures the Cast Aluminum is on your left

+1 - very nice finish/nice job.
Do not follow Eastwood's instructions to cure for x minutes after flow-out - you won't get a good cure. Use an IR gun to check part metal temperature (PMT) and when it reaches 400, or whatever Eastwood recommends, start your timer.

Nice work on both of them.
I prefer the platinum. In the double photo it seems to show a bit more definition in the ribs. |

Thanks guys, I kinda like the cast because it's closer to original. Tom we are following Eastwood directions but I will be sure to try your way when we do the next ones. We are still just learning so it's a lot of trial and error but I've seen your work so I know you know what you're talking about. Thanks |
