Wire Crimper

Does anyone have a crimper they particularly love? I want to get a ratcheting-type crimper with interchangable dies. Currently looking at the Paladin/Greenlee PA-8000 crimper and PA2040 die for 10-22AWG wire.

I have a ratcheting crimper with various dies that I purchased years ago from http://vintageconnections.com/ at a reasonable price and it's still working fine. (Their website appears to be down for inventory at the current time).

I have a crimper that works like vise grips that I bought several years ago from a local electronics store. Sorry I don't remember the brand of the tool. It works really well for me.

Best I've ever used was made by Burndy Tools.

Burndy

A bit expensive ($200 or so) but well worth it if you're doing a lot of crimping. Every connection will be perfect.

Thanks everyone for the advice.

I ended up going with MSD's racheting "Pro Crimp Tool" which was $77 on Jegs. The tools comes with a die used for stripping standard thickness (7-8mm) spark plug wires and crimping spark plug terminals such as the ones supplied in Dyna wire kits. The crimper seemed middle-of-the-road on price and had interchangeable dies, which was a must-have for me. I'm sure it's made by someone else and branded for MSD, but with any luck, it will last a while.
