We've got a lot of younger guys here on the forum now, but there's also a lot of us that aren't as young as we used to be. I've been feeling the aches and pains of younger days playing too hard in the sandbox so to speak, a heart issue, eyes that play tricks on me these days and that right foot that got caught under the bike when I went down hard once in a corner slide out, then out of the blue, a buddy in Colombia sent this video to me. For all you guys that can relate, watch this short video and see if it inspires y'all as much as it did me. Let's Ride Motorcycles!!!!!!

A friend of mine announced to me today that after 15 years he is giving up riding motorbikes. He's only 66, I wonder if he is feeling too old to ride. I hope this decision doesn't kill him.

I know all about the aches & pains,I'm still sore in places from a shitmixer I took in September when my 350 spat me down the road at the Kings of Collie race meeting, but I was back the next day for more (after I got another helmet from home).I can relate to the way they carry around a picture of one of the group that had passed on.

Chris.

I was thinking about it today, last time I badly busted up my leg about 3 years ago I can remember the surgeons secretary asking me to fill out all the paperwork so they could order in all the parts they needed. Good thing the surgeon was a mad biker so he understood the reasons why we keep riding. I always loved the look on peoples faces while in extreme pain in hospital when I would be asked if I would ride again and my stock answer was "what else am I going to do with the rest of my life" There was no comback from that, they just look at you dumbfounded and walk off

I often think about the times growing up, riding motocross bikes with my mates. Some of them I still keep in contact with, and others moved away and I've lost contact with. One of my best mates died only a couple of years ago, I'm happy to say that he brought my CB900F2 from me earlier and we had several good trips together, both on CB's before his death.
I'd love to have the opportunity to have the old crew back together on Dirt bikes or on the road, just to relive old times.

Rohan and George, David and Andrew. Johno RIP mate, miss ya heaps.

I'm still in touch with all the guys I rode and raced with in my teens, and everyone still rides today. Like many, we lost a mate a couple years ago, but he's not forgotten. What I got from the video is that all of us that ride are similar in so many ways, but our love for motorcycles is unlike any other passion on life path and it's a common bond that will forever bind us ALL as Brothers. LETS RIDE MOTORCYCLES!!!! mates!!!!

I think that's what most of us North-East "F'ers" are gonna look like in a few years. Old, aches and pains and Big-Huge smiles for miles. Gotta love it.

Glad you enjoyed it E, I thought it would inspire more guys to Stay in the Game longer....I've seen a lot of guys selling and moving on, and while I get it, I guess, for me? Once it's in your blood it's a way of life to life.

....i feel the most alive when I hop over that saddle.
She is death and I have her by the ears. Holding on tight. Making her scream, Hearing her roar, Feeling her trying to shake me off.
At the end of our dance. I hop off. I look at her, with a racing heart. I hear her beaten metal pop and ting.
She nods & I smile
Till next time
