Hey guys. I just tried installing a propipe I bought off eBay, brand new. I couldn't get it to fit, and it was way off. The V&H badge is angled up. The megaphone hits the swingarm. The rear brake needs to be removed and cannot be used. The collector is right on the frame.
Has there been fitment issues before? Or did I get send the wrong pipe

The V & H Pro pipe as I recall is a drag racing pipe that requires chassis modification to fit.... |

X2, it was made for straight line drag racing and not stock frame.........................got one, the same issues. You'll strike pipe if you take a hard right turn. Mine was given to me but the back megaphone made an excellent replacement for my CB550F rear muffler. |

73lemon-Yeah man I was trying but even at the end its still doesn't sit right. No bake brakes??
AMC49- But from the pics, even the V&H logo doesn't line up right. Are these pipes wrong? |

The foot brake lever will not work as is, it needs to modified too work. There's not much ground clearance for right hand turns, either. |

My information is that this is a DRAG RACE APPLICATION ONLY pipe and as others have said will not fit without EXTENSIVE modifications to frame and / or pipe.
In a nutshell you have a pipe that was intended to be used for 1/8 or 1/4 mile STRAIGHT SHOT runs with a modified chassis and NO CURVES involved (cornering clearance is significantly compromised on the Right hand side).
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news --BUT--if seller indicated this was a street pipe perhaps you have some recourse to get it returned (E-Bay can help with this if not AS DESCRIBED). You DO have pictures to prove your point. If possible I'd get it returned and source another model. The one linked below will work:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vance-Hines-Street-Megaphone-4-Into-1-Exhaust-Honda-CB900F-Super-Sport-CB1100F-/111617698526?fits=Model%3ACB1100F&hash=item19fceeeade&vxp=mtr.
Best of luck. |

If you don't buy directly from the maker, many shops have bought stock lots and only know what they fit not all the details. Its the price you pay when buying OLD NOS stuff. I'm not 100% sure but don't think V&H make CB pipes anymore?
Good luck with the install.
Peace, Jim |

The collector is different to make a "sidewinder". They only work because it sidewinds up because that is what it needs. It does not work on a streetbike because they lean. On a bike they drag big time even when it leans at the track.
Not to mention the brake pedal and the rest. |

Outside of the great guys, vast knowledge sharing and experience on this forum, one of the other things I love about the Forum are the guys that make me laugh so much. 73Lemon, I about pissed myself with the comment about Danny having the hammer out already....and oilfields tremendously positive and encouraging comment about having an excuse now to build a drag bike!!! Hahaha thanks guys for brightening my day!!! I just hope Danny takes it all in stride!!!! We have all made costly mistakes no doubt. I hope you can get this amicably resolved Danny!!!! |

The logo plate is always mounted around a 45 degree angle, it does not sit dead horizontal. To show the casual walker by the pipe brand for name recognition.
That one is a little high though. Where the rivet holes were drilled I'm sure. |

Just before seeing Danny's original post about this, I had been looking at the details of that system on line, and did see that it noted some modifications may be required.
Is that header pipe/collector the same configuration as the V&H Supersport system, with only the megaphone being different? |

No - the entire header is different. |
