I saw a uk bike that had seperate handle bars that looked to cast alluminium.(mounted straight to the fork tops)
which i like the look of more so than us chrome bars.
what would be needed to swap over to the uk spec bars .i guess the riser bar would go to.
anybody got a good pic showing the differance would be appreciated.

The fork tubes are longer in the Euro bikes. If you slide up your tubes in the triple clamps to have room to clamp the handlebars, you will drop the front end and effectively shorten the trail. May make for a scary ride. |

The bars were the same as the CBX.....long or short available....
You could run CBX forks as well....depending on the year.
79-80 35mm
81-82 39mm
Might make it easier to find here......although Wout may have what you need.

This is correct.....I have seen a euro spec 900 on another site and the bars, and forks would work.....the cluster
is very similar too....the "Mickey Mouse" style.....but no volt gauge....
Mark....I believe the CBX sport kit bars are the equivilant to the 900 euro.....
They look nice....have a pair on Ken's bike and they were Powder Coated....different look.

Darn, Jebby, here we disagree once again. And I thought we were on a path to agreement.
The 900F Euro bars are different from the CBX Euro or Sport Kit bars. The locator pin is in a slightly different position and the bar angle is different.
They will work but you will have to accept a different angle.
The 900F bars have a -438- part number and the CBX ones a -422- or -MA2-. |

I believe that Rob is correct here. I personally like the feel of the 900F Euro bars.
Best,

Makes sense....but they would work eh'?
But I will stand on the Pro Link CBX forks...the triples are different due to the vented brakes but the actual
forks will work fine....Dan (kcdaniels) set this up for twin piston calipers and had to use a 900 tree.....

If anyone would like to try the euro handlebars, I can supply them. I have a number of sets in 39mm, 37mm and 35mm.
They should work with the existing top yoke. They do have locating pins, but as and when needed I have removed the locating pin to give more options on position.
