| I see that some here use parts from a f3 cbr...for the bigger forks and swing arm. Is this hard to do? Allot of fabrication? bolt on and go?

 1997 cbr600 f3 - I can pick it up real cheap.

or would this be just a stupid idea?

| If you do a search in the performance tech forum you will find a boat load of info re this conversion, well worth doing, and if you can get the f3 stuff cheep then all the better.

| The swimgarm is prolink so you'll need to do a single shock frame mod to use it. It will involve some fabrication/welding, and of course a frame up teardown. I would keep another bike whole to ride while doing a project like this. Daz your signature is too big...

| mp33dave, keep us updated. I too am interested in the F3 conversion as I picked up a complete F3 in parts for cheap. I was wondering if it is possible to weld shock mounts to the F3 swingarm instead of going through the hassle of doing the prolink setup.

Pete, as much as it pained me to do so, because Daz's machine is awesome, I adblocked the pictures to clean up the posts.

Yes, thats pretty popular around here. But really, the 11F swinger with the wheel would be easier if you don't have a welder handy.

| There is another option: CB400F aluminum swing arm. They are pretty cheap out of Japan, except for shipping, and then you have to do a shock switch or mod. Pontiacstogo did a nice one and you don't need to take your whole bike apart.

 Gotta agree with MrAmbitious,
CB400SF aluminium swingarm is the way to go for a great upgrade.
I'm surprised more of you guys have not done it.

Quite simple to make it fit, much lighter and stronger than the std swingarm
and if you use the NC39 arm, my favourite, looks like it was designed for the CBF
by Mr Honda in the first place.

Two options out there, NC31 or NC39, both will work and look great!

 Freddie19.

 NC31 swingarm

 NC39 swingarm

Another NC39 fitment from a Japanese site, looks almost factory fitted to me!

All I ever use is regular furniture polish in a spray can.
Pledge is my favourite, gives a great shine and doesn't attack the finish.
