Recently a bad thing happened and now I want humble opinions.

I had my 1100F (which I purchased new in 1983) re-done in 2005.I did not use the color -rite paint but opted for the best match, long story short, the fairing got destroyed in a wreck, and I took pictures of bike with a factory paint fairing(which the person riding it sent to me)and just want to know if it very noticable or looks okay in these pictures. The rider sent me his fairing so I could ride, and get along with out waiting whole summer for repair.Just looking for opts not to get into a whole who did it and why.

So how does the paint match?Fairing to rest of the body work?

Seems pretty close. Certainly matches better than the one you installed at the NE ride!

Jeff, that's a cheap shot! Funny, but cheap, nonetheless!

I think it looks great Phil! Better than it did on mine (which is still missing carbs, but not for long, thanks to ToddK)!

Ride the piss out of it!

I'll post a pic of my "temp fix" (it's in work now...), when complete!

Have a great time on the ride with the wife, my friend!

Going by this picture - it doesn't match at all Sad .

Not suprising though - I've got a good number of original red 1100F body parts ranging from NOS, to nice original, to scruffy and it never ceases to amaze me how different the red color can be from one part to another.

The NOS stuff is almost a ruby red, whereas stuff that's still nice but been exposed to sun (and maybe too much polishing) can be quite a bright red. Your original stuff has been repainted too which makes it even trickier to find an exact match. You may be best to simply have an 1100F fairing painted and decal'ed to match.

I've noticed that the color pigments on the orginal Honda paint isn't UV stable and can/will fade on the same part top to bottom.
I too, have seen brand new parts that didn't match each other so Honda's QC at the time seems to be questionable.
The only way to have it match is to paint ALL the parts at the same time from the same batch of paint.

Tat, it was Jeff (Warpspeed) who took the shot. No problem there.

I went back and read all the post again. What Warpspeed said is NO worst than what wamkap1100 said in the first post. Everyone knows you wrecked the bike so why keep bringing it back up? I had an ex wife that did the same thing. Why not just say, Hey guys what do you think about the color match? He should be glad you sent him one at all. Now what did the guy that caused the wreck send him???

Also why be so picky, The exhaust are rusted and the forks are chipped up. It's a nice bike but it's not a show bike.
