Looking for Mechanic for my CB in the Central Ohio Area

I need to find a local guy to look at my carbs on my 79 750F. One of the carbs is eaking fuel out the over flow and I dont know why.... Can someone offer some advise? THanks

Probably a stuck float needle or a split overflow tube. Where is central Ohio ? Columbus, Dayton ?? Put your location in under your profile and welcome to the site

Could be a cracked overflow tube. Take that bowl off and fill it up with water. Put you thumb over the top of the tube, loosen the drain screw and use your compressor to blow air up the tube. Watch for bubbles in the water. I had two bowls like this on my 79.

Your float needle is not cutting of the fuel flow. Very common. Solution is to remove the bowl, clean the brass hole that the needle goes in to with a qtip, and re install. If its an outside float bowl, you can do this wth the carbs on the bike.

I am located in Southeast Columbus. I will try these and see what happens. I know that as soon as the bowls fill with fuel the #4 carb has fuel running out the overflow tube. I'll let you know.

Is there a reason why I see most guys running stock airboxes. I running K&N pods....

Before the carbs started to pee out the overflows did you like the way the bike ran? Any sputters? Flat spots?

If it ran to your liking then the question is moot.

If it did not run to your liking that is why a lot of people leave the airbox on. The pods can sometimes be hard to tune.

Actually the bike ran great, I had the igniters go bad and the bike sat for a few years. I had the carbs gone through while I had it at a shop and that is when I found out the problem with them. Before the shop went through them they were fine. It was winter time and thought it would be a great opprotunity to clean things up alittle. Man do I wish I wouldnt have taken it there. They specialize in "newer" sportbikes.

Ok turns out it is the overflow tube. Put the water in blew are through it and presto, bubbles.
Next question is where do i get one and how hard are they to install?

You can solder them or some guys have repaired with JB Weld
