Will front rotors from an 81 900F fit on an 82?
Can you get these rotors 'turned' or resurfaced like they do on cars?
Thanks//Joe |

Yes, the rotors are the same from 81-82 900f.
I read somewhere that its a pain to cut these rotors because of the stainless makeup. I've never tried, they have a number stamped in them, like 3mm. I had a set of 1100f rotors that were warped and I considered cutting them... Upon measurement they were very close to the service limit. Cutting them would have put them over. So I suspect that most rotors you find that need to be cut are to thin.
EDIT: I just realized your in Canada... I'm not sure if the rotors are the same. Are we talking comstar wheels or boomerang? |

I believe it can be done, but requires some special equipment. Since the rotors are so much thinner than automotive rotors, if you try to resurface them on the same machine, the rotor can bend or flex in the machine, and you will not get a good resurfacing. You need some sort of a 'backplate' type of setup. |

Here is the link to the service. He does great work and I highly recommend him to anyone. You can see a set on my bike by clicking the picture in my signature.
