I showed up in Phoenix (about 7 hours from Albuquerque) to get an early start on the Vintage racing season with my CB-F and Kwacker with CCS-SW and had previously talked Powerroy into stealing money from the post office by dropping the CB-750F frame he had off at Firebird in exchange for 'postage'. We chatted for a bit and then Ratfink showed up on his yellow CB-F so I knew who it was as he rode up. Solman was wandering the pits on Sunday and stopped by as he recognized my CB-F, so we chatted some also. It was good chatting with you guys, but I probably wasn't very good company as I'm easily distracted during trackdays & races. It was good to say hi and put faces and people to posts.
Racing went well (great?) with wins in both "SuperVintage" (CB-F) and Historic Vintage Heavyweight (Kwacker Z1). |

Dennis are you going to be racing at mid ohio this year? I have never been there and I might ride down with my friend this year to check it out. Do you know the dates for it by the way? |

I expect to be at Mid-Ohio but I'm also hoping to be at two other races in Michigan in case they're in your neck of the woods.
Here's the schedule:
May 26-27 GingerMan Raceway, South Haven, MI (May 25, practice day)
June 16-17 Grattan Raceway Park, Grattan, MI (there should be a practice day June 15th)
July 28-29 Vintage Motorcycle Days, Mid-Ohio, Lexington (July 27, practice day)
Naturally, if money evaporates faster than expected or anything else that might happen happens, I could miss any or all of those races.
Regardless, Mid-Ohio Vintage days is a BIG event and if you need to buy parts it's also the biggest swap meet for motorcycles on the face of the planet (bring a truck)... It's a great time with dirt track, motorcross, road race, auctions, test rides and more. |

Wow! Ok I will try to make at least one of those. I think mid ohio is going to be on the to-do list for sure though. Hopefully I will meet you this summer then. |

Nice man! Too bad I wasn't able to watch the actual race. I knew you were going to tear it up though just watching you practice. Good meeting you too. You were good company, no problem there. But I had friends to go meet at a pick and pull. I had a blast, got to see an F in action, and many other vintage cool machines. Learned some too. I know that if I can figure out the spare time and money that I would like to get out there myself on the track. You guys all look like you have a blast.
Here are a couple of pictures.
Candid shot. Sorry, not the best, I was using my phone again. It's what I got.
Action shot. Wish I could have zoomed in more. But at least you have visible proof of the Menace in action.

It was strange to see you there. I wasn't expecting that was thoroughly happy to watch you race. I must admit, you were definitely tearing up the track on that Kawi and both bikes were a joy to watch on the track. I knew that you had your mind on racing and I hope that I didn't distract you too much that day. I hope to see you again at the November races. I also have a pic that we took, but I will have to upload it later. |

I had to laugh at the 'candid' photo of me sitting on the bike - it reminded me of the story my wife told me about how she always watches the back of my head for that bald monk hairless patch looking thing to keep from losing me in a crowd...
Maybe I should get a tatoo there, or maybe just a can of brown Ronco spray paint!
I was almost two seconds a lap faster on the Honda than the Kaw, but my wife said it looked like it was easier to ride the Kaw than the Honda - getting off more or something... dunno... |

Bald spot? I thought that was weight reduction for the race? |
