What moto mag best fits our particular madness?

As a firmly committed "old" motorcycle (1981 CB750F) rider, I've been fairly unsatisfied with the choices of magazine available to read regarding my hobby. I'm thinking about subscribing to "Motorcycle Classics"--any feedback appreciated. What moto mag do you read, and does it satisfy your old bike jones Question

Zip on down to your local Barnes and Noble or Borders and check out CMM (Classic Motorcycle Mechanics) from England. Their slogan is "The best bikes of the 70's and 80's" (their old slogan was "Real, not retro"- wonderful!!!). What could be more "us" than that? Great stuff! Also check out Classic Bike (mostly older bikes, but a new format change brings hope for more nicely done specials) and Performance Bikes (mostly newer bikes, but feature a special each issue and had the Spencer replica article a few months ago). I don't want to bust on the US magazines too much, but there usually isn't very much that interests me- especially after discovering the British magazines. The subscriptions are expensive, but cheaper that a road trip to check out the new books every two weeks! Swap meets are a great way to get issues on the cheap, but wait until I'm done looking through them first! I missed a great article on the RS 1000 last year because I was too nice- Grrrrr!

I second the vote (or third it, or whatever) on the English magazines. They are more expensive, but seem to have the occasional interesting article, rather than just tons of road tests. And you will like CMM if you fancy yourself a bit of a mechanic (as I do).

The English old car mags are great, too. Check out Classic and Sportscar if you haven't already. Yeah, I have British fantasies but they haven't reached the bike stage yet.

Actually none of them really suit me. The two that I like to read are Sport Rider and the Brit mag Superbike. The latter even has a centerfold. Cool

I don't care for most the US magazines either John, but try the Bristish mags if you can find them. "Bike" pulls no punches on modern test rides and they have reviews on old bikes from time to time. Test rides are very through and photography is excellent.

Motorcycle mechanic is excellent as is classic motorcycle.

I like Cycle Canada. They just changed owners and the Editor Bruce Reeve left and I noticed they have no letters anymore so I,m going to give them an issue or two before I decide if I like them anymore.

Generally, when I feel the need, I head over to Barnes and Noble and browse around. I usually end up mwith SuperBike though.
Funny, I have an old bike, but I don't care to read about them, except here. Confused
