What if there is clear over them? Can you get them off without honking up the paint job?

Not trying to sound like a smartass here but, you could look for a sidecover that is the right color and sell this one to someone looking for that color.

I searched for months for a silver one with blue decals...the right one was stolen along with my battery and was mint (like the left one i still have). The black and red one I ended up with has "picked at" decals that look like shit so i think anyone would want to get them off. there is clear coat over them and when i pick at it the top layer comes off in millimeter size pieces and leaves residue. it's a mess. i was hoping there was some chemical that would pull it right off...

this may be pretty obvious, but....if the cover is the wrong color anyway, and the clear coat is pealing off anyway, i would just sand the thing down and be rid of the offending decal. you gotta do it anyway if you want to paint the cover to match your bike. Wink

My spares actually do not have decals, they are primed, ready to paint.
