What do you clean your leathers with?

I used this stuff from Wilson's Leather and It worked OK but not great. Still have bug guts that I can't get off. I'm looking for something quick and easy (aren't we all).

SPEED, JUST RAW SPEED.....

BUT SERIOUSLY..... i use some stuff called Lexol. cleans and conditions. i also have a few permagutty [?!

] spots on my leather. try some leather shoe polish of the appropriate color to cover spots that dont still have the legs wigglin' on them

Just today after a 2 haur ride I was thinking about the carwash down the street. I can't seem to shake some of these bugs. Ganna be a nast year around AZ. Way too much rain, and now way too many bugs. Some of the grasshoppers are big enough to actually hurt at 65mph. And boy are they juicy!

I think good ol fashion saddle soap on a soft brush should do it. i also use Lexal to condition. For removal of the "funky smells" Febreeze enzyme cleaner works good. just choose an unscented or gentle smelling one. i spray my suits interier, hang outside in the wind for a couple days (not night).

For bugs, I use a pot scrubber and a small amount of water. One of the ones for teflon coated pans, not a brillo pad. Very Happy

Don't tell my wife. Shocked

I agree, for general maintainance, Saddle Soap is great.

Ride.

repeat as necessary.

Clean??!! You CLEAN your leathers????? I still have bugs on my leathers from 2002!!! If the rain doesnt clean them up, an occasional crash and burn usually scrubs off the crud..... Shocked

I thought only Harley riders actually clean their leathers.... and then put bug patches on them and mud & scrtch decals on their bikes to make them look like they have been used.... Cool

The little fat girl at the leather shop suggested baby wiipes. Just what I want to do is get together for a ride with the guys smelling like a baby's backside! That would go over like a titty-pink Harley.
I think I'll stick with the saddle soap for now and condition with Lexol.

if you like mother nature all over your $250+ leathers, god bless ya,man. it is tough to avoid getting spattered by all the lovely goo that comes flying at you at speed. from bugs to the little kid spitting out the window at you as you ride by moms SUV, it is a grand soup of ingredients that end up on you and your protective gear when you go for a ride. the trouble is, it isnt so much the bug guts that are the real problem. they may look "interesting" at the diner you stopped at for breakfast, but bug guts are not really bad for your leather. what is bad is the exhaust fumes, ultra violet light, ozone, and other air born environmental toxins that literally eat up your leather and stitching.
