one should never stop trying to improve your talents unfortunately my talent seems to be crashing. this time it was at the state titles and looking at a possible third for the weekend the bike was running tops
when i lowsided on a left i have no memory of the race or crash until coming to in the medical centre when they were cutting my leathers off
the three guys racing in the group with me cant seem to figure why i crashed one thinks i may have clipped the ripple strip. one guy just missed my head by inches so this time its a broken collar bone, shoulder blade, six ribs and bruised lung 4 days in icu drugged up,
i have not seen my bike yet i have been told by the boys at work its not too bad though but it was a damned hard hit any way we have a winter break till august so that gives me time to sort things out
since now i need new leathers and helmet i will be poor for a while
( shoei will be getting my money again for sure) the honda will be fixed to race ready by then hope fully. the big kawi project is still
ongoing.

Too bad.
Hope you and your bike heal up quick.

Was this on a track? If not than from what I can tell, God was watching over you. Cause if your landscape is anything like what it is around my home; you go sliding off of the road at high speed and your going off cliffs or hitting trees.
Again.
Hope everything works out for you.

it was at Oran Park an older race track that is past its glory days and has a patchy surface. the guy that narrowly avoided me rang to see how i was and you could still hear the stress in his voice i am lucky that most of the riders i was racing against where more experienced than me
although i am sorry that the race had to be stopped because of me. as i wasn't moving which is sickening to watch when it happens no one likes to see an unconciouss fellow racer taken away in an ambulance.

I wish you & your honda a speedy recovery & I hope you are still young
enough for a full recovery.
I didn`t mind crashing when I was young It comes with the sport if you`re gonna ride on the edge.
My last crash I was 41 years old & I found I didn`t heal as qiuck as I
used to.
I woke up in an ambulance & thought these guys were really fast, must have been right around the corner I was missing half an hour.
When I saw the scissers come out I said No don`t cut the suit so he
reached inside placed a hand on my shoulder & tried to pull the leather
over it & the lights went out again when I come to they had cut the suit
off but they did a nice job cutting along the seem & I was able to have it repaired.
My hot tip for the day is never carry stuff in your breast pockect , It
was my cell phone that punctured the lung.

Sorry to hear this. This is a hazardous hobby we pursue. Some of us more than others. I used to race too and had my two bad ones on a track.
Take care and heal fast!

God's speed on a great recovery.

Which Shoei do you wear....My own melon was saved by a shoei and I currently wear an RF1000... I'll say it's the most comfortable and quietest lid I've ever had on my head.

Anyway, I just read this thread as I leave this weekend for a weekend of Super-moto fun at a track near Denver. I'll put in a hot-lap for you and of course send some positive thoughts your way.

You have my simpathy. I too had a chance meeting with the pavement breakng my clavicle but it was not any where near as bad. I'm well on the road to recovery and hope you are too.
I used to watch the RD Yamahas race at Nelson's Ledges and saw many accidents like yours. It's never a good feeling when they stop the race for the ambulance to get out on the track.

Good luck healing

Tough break, Chris!!! I hate waking up in the hospital. Don't do that much since I quit racing. mend carefully and we'll compare clavicles someday.

Clavicles seem to be the injury of the year. Mine's broke in two places. At 47 racing is definitely out of my blood but that didn't stop me from breaking bones. Good luck and heal quick...
