Back in the old days when my bike was new , I rode with a guy that rode a SOHC 750 hard tail with a springer front end.
He was a hard core Honda 750 enthusiast and made his bike as an alternative to the belly button Harley choppers.
I know he had a lifetime limp from a serious leg injury that happened when his over bored hot rod SOHC had some kind of chain failure that locked the rear wheel and caused a serious accident. After the internet made information available, I do remember reading something about a breakage problem like that with those bikes when hopped up. That accident was prior to his chopper days. Did an interstate ride with him to an outdoor drink fest that was attended by several 1% ers. Those were the days where “ easy rider” magazine was very popular and so was the culture that went with it.
Interesting dude and a cool bike, but he paid heavily in comfort riding a hard tail. Especially with a fucked up leg. |

100%. Our opinions aren't worth anything, it's his bike! |
