Here is another old-school bike magazine I found at a swap meet. I think I came home with more stuff than I went there with!! Enjoy!!

I have that mag in my collection also. Love these trips down memory lane.

Great article, thanks for sharing. There is a CB1100RB for sale in Australia, one of the 100 imported for homologation purposes, it's pricey, but tempting.

I know the answer to this question is very subjective, but for any owners of a CB1100R, how would you describe what the bike is like to 'live with' compared to, say, a CB1100F?

i.e. is the engine more free-spirited?

Also, I know the unique parts on a CB1100R are harder to come by, but as a potential owner, what other things need to be considered (over and above the usual items for buying a 40+ year old bike?)

Well I have had mine for a year and the biggest issue is getting it registered here in California. It is not looking good but I have a way around it. I should have it settled in a week.
For me it's like riding my F but with more power everywhere as well as a little more weight. Maintenance is the same as far as I have seen. I rebuilt the carbs and it was no big deal.
I'm sure the veteran owners here on the site will have plenty more info mate....

I have a 900F UK spec to compare it with. Obviously its faster and pulls harder once the revs build. It does feel a little more sluggish at very low revs however, different tuning and lighter flywheel. I love the riding position which is not too aggressive compared to modern sport bikes. Its tips into corners way way more easily than my F which often requires a good push on the inside bar to get down. Maintenance is pretty much same as F. The fairing gets in the way when doing valves etc and takes time to remove.

Here's CB1100RB that is currently for sale in Australia, it's #60 of the 100 bought in for homologation purposes. I believe they came with no fairing.

I like the way you think.... Both my brothers live in Phoenix. The title is on it's way to one of them. I should have this resolved by next week.

I will keep you guys posted

Thank You
