I'm thinking in a year or two drop some money down for one of these. I love the looks of it, and everything I read tells me it's the type of bike I want. It's really the only new bike that I really want.
Anyone here ride/own one? opinions?
(of course I'll still keep the F!)

It isn't so much that you posted off topic stuff, it is just that the Geat Beyond would've been better suited.

BTW, a friend of mine just bought one and loves it. He used to have a TL1000S and wasn't sure if the SV would equal up. They fixed a few thing on the '05 like bigger forks and throttle bodies and apparently really transformed the bike.

I havnt done that model, but just had a hour in the mtns last week on a vstrom 1000.....After trying a lot of bikes, I think it will be the new version bike I buy as it makes me feel good like my 900..Smile, just dont look at it!! Smile Handles, rode, went like mad.. would wheelie anytime...felt and sounded great.....I think the vsrom for the touring and the sv for the shorter stuff, nice choice...I also rode a 650 vstrom and it was still quick.

good luck shopping.

I prefer the "naked" version S1000. But otherwise, I love everything about this bike. Cool Very Happy

The VStrom has the same motor as the SV. It is butt ugly, but I have heard fantastic reviews about it.

A buddy just bought the SV650s - Super light and fairly spunky for only 70hp. Fun to ride!!

Only thing I don't like is the stock can - sounds like an electric lawn mower.

I was looking at one a few weeks ago at the local dealership. They are a really nice bike. I have read several reviews on them, and haven't heard of any negatives yet.
