Don’t know how much interest this will generate, but I just noticed that Rock Auto has a closeout sale of Fram CH6009 oil filters for $2.11 each.
I know Fram filters aren’t well regarded in automotive circles because the way they are constructed, but I’ve used these CH6009 filters for years because they were readily available. Personally, I’ll chance these before I go with one of the no name Chinese filters that are now the norm on Amazon.
For those that want to spend more, they also list WIX 24940 at $5.07 each, which is still a screaming deal in my book.WIX filters are generally well regarded in the auto world.
How that perceived quality translates to the simple Honda oil filter on these bikes is for you to decide. |

They Charge $10 shipping so you better order a few of them to make the overall price per filter worthwhile...
I bought 6 of them lol |

that's a great deal....I also just bought 6, and shipping to Australia is only $20, so that's 6 filter's for a total price less I could get 2 for in Oz.
Thanks for posting F4fast |

Last filter I bought from the Honda dealer near me was a stupid price, but I needed it at the time. When I paid, I asked him to have a good look at my face, when he asked my why? I just replied because you will never see it again |

The local auto store in Lynbrook was liquidating their Fram oil filters. I bought his entire stock of 39 CH6009 filters at $0.75 each! Needless to say I won't have to buy another oil filter for the rest of my riding life.
Also bought a large selection of air filters for my Tacoma. |

Did some checking (googling) on the Fram filters and found nothing negative. Bought 10. Worked out to $3.29 each delivered. Much better than the the roughly $9.00 I was paying for the OEM Honda ones.
Thanks Steve!

Fram is weak. Car filters, anyway, so it would stand to reason that the bike ones are similar in quality. |

That was true 10 years or so ago. Today the filters don't have the material or construction flaws that were prevalent back then. The CH6009s are not canister so you can easily see any fault, crud or whatever. |

Here's the results of the "Engine Masters" oil filter shootout that was on TV this week ICYMI.
For racing, the higher the flow rate the better. Street, I still like the regular WIX, it's a good performer and fairly cheap. The K&N Gold came out even better and rated at 10 microns, not sure of the cost though. |
