What did you do to your bike today

Nothing. UPS have lost my cylinder liners. They say it was delivered on Friday. I got a proof of delivery signed by RHONDA R. No one here or even my street with that name. They won't tell me anything or the contractor that delivers in my area. All sounds very sus!
Now to go to Summit and get them to file a claim. Paid $195AU for post plus the $500AU for the liners to get nothing. PHU(K

That fucking sucks I had a similar situation where the package was delivered and signed for by the delivery man. cuz he didn't wanna knock. I got my package. but totally out of place.for him to sign for it and leave it.

I installed my new baffle repack today and soldered a wire for my turn signal back to the motherboard.

My baffle insert was in good condition fully intact. let's see how ss mat , 1/2 inch ss wool , and 1/2 inch ceramic fiber sounds

Fiberglass baffle insert before the swap. Cold start by the way. I'll post a after video soon . You have to click the sound icon in the video for sound.

I've not had any luck getting generic packing (pipe insulation, scrubber pads) to hold up on my GL1000 with slash-cut Emgo shorties. It chews up the packing no matter how tightly wrapped and tied, and spits it out. What was it that you pulled out (and how long was it in), and who makes your new pack? I'd like something that holds up for a thousnd miles. So far, it doesn't last 20!

Well the original fiberglass packing came on a Dennis Kirk baffle. 8 inches long 2 inch o.d it was 15$. I pulled the baffle at 1126 miles. As you can see in the pics it's in great condition. Fully intact not a single fiber missing. Plus I ride it like I stole it if that helps. This is the site for the repack kit. My videos suck sorry. What did u think on the sound?

Isn't heated gear great? We traditionally ride to Cumberland Falls State Park (KY) for lunch on New Year's Day.

Pulling rear wheel isn't so hard. Read FSM and follow instructions. On my GL1800, I just lay the bike on the right side crash bars, pull out the center stand, remove 5 lug nuts and off it comes. I keep a spare wheel and tire so I can roll it back in the garage while having the tire swapped (Walmart - I run a car tire on the back). I suspect other shaft drive bikes are like the GL1000 - center stand, maybe remove or unbolt a muffler for clearance, remove axle and spacers, pull wheel.

It's the next best investment besides the bike lol the only way to really ride and enjoy yourself in the winter. I have some friends who say nah I don't need heated gear I been riding 20 years no heated gear.And like I tell them for local it's not needed. But come catch a highway ride at 75mph in 35 degree weather for 30 min. Lol none dare join me .Plus now I run my mine without any fear of ruining anything .I have a upgraded stator pumping 20% more juice than stock plus a full led setup only drawing about 3.4 amps Total lol. happy new year .I'm waiting for a bearing retainer tool to change the bearings when I change the rear tire just waiting on that 2 do it.ive been trying to plan ahead .going to do a oil change to full synthetic soon I have semi synthetic. Also going to replace the clutch while I'm at it I have the springs going to order the discs.s I'm also looking at a valve adjustment soon. I'm at about 10k miles now .more toys I mean tools to order for the clutch removal .

Sounds great at idle - raspy like a Honda straight 4 when reved. I stiil have to find a way to replace the final baffles that a PO removed from the stock 2-4 exhaust on my '79 CB750F. Way too loud without them. My GL1000 is just a little loud, but the problem with the Emgo shorty slash-cuts on it is that it keeps destroying the wrap. The original wrap after ~20 miles was almost all gone. Replaced with pipe insulation tightly wrapped, it lasted about 30 miles. I've had stainless steel pot scrubbers on it, and that was a little too loud, plus they were getting chewed up after ~50 miles. It is mainly a show bike, but I'd like to ride it more this coming summer. A lot of my rifing is in parks where loud is not appreciated. Considering wrapping with fiberglass cloth.

Get yaself a baffle like mine from Dennis Kirk the fiber glass packing is perfectly made. I put 1125 miles plus and it's not missing not even strand of fiber. The repacks are a pain to install had plenty of ceramic fiber blown out at start up the fiberglass didn't blow nothing out. I might just put my fiberglass repack back on but with the ss mat and wool first.went to put gas and someone was like damn it sounds like a modern day sports bike lol

Ive been researching on exhuast an baffles. allot of people say the same thing as you that the fiber glass was gone in a few hours. I was curious and wanted to muffle mine a bit more. So I got a repack kit. The Dennis Kirk baffle the fiberglass comes premolded and slit down the middle a perfect fit for the baffle. Btw it's about a half inch thick maybe 3/4 inch thick also. Another thing the ss mat that goes first on the baffle followed by the ss wool is suppose to help protect the fiberglass from breaking down. I didn't have no ss mat or ss wool in the baffle originally and it's still intact after 1100 miles not missing a single strand.

The ss wool is about a 1/2 thick. It's extremely thick like a brillo pad on steroids lol

I went for like a hr spin before it rains... hit 110 on the hw that overdrive is so sweeet .i'm at 80+ in 4th going like 5400 rpm I hit 5th at about 100 at about 6500rpm once I hit7k rpm it just wants to take offfff like a rocket

Maybe a little mellower. Would have to compare two exact similar (surroundings, mic position, etc.) to say for sure. But then I'm old and deaf and ride a GoldWing 1800 with earplugs in, so....

Hahaha I'm type deaf to lol it's why i asked lol. I think it does sound a little more refined .I guess the wool and packing it nice and tight.opposed to just the fiberglass.that just slid right in. I had to work it in this time. was much bulkier than just the fiberglass. The wool is a good 1/2 inch thick and the ceramic another 1/2 inch. I can almost assure u eith the wool alone it will last a good 20 30k miles judging the condition of just the fiberglass insert alone. I'll throw on some music. I gotta get speakers for the helmet. Sometimes the earphones shift and they hurt. Been shopping for a modular. I have1 I baught but no chin curtain really annoying. And no sun visor. I was dooped lol

Finally got a reply from UPS re my cylinder liners at 4pm new years eve! Their sub contractor dropped them off at the Ulladulla Post Office. Seems he didn't want to drive another 20Km to my place. I bolted in there but bugga they were shut. Will get them tomorrow.

I cut off my intake boot#1 kept slipping the carb. I ordered some aftermarket boots 20$ . They came wrong. They sent a replacement also wrong. I returned them. bit the bullet and ordered oem boots to the tune of 85$. I think that's way too expensive but anyways. We got a inch of snow more coming this weekend . 36 degrees in ny .

Just shipped my 1100 frame + '07/08 CBR600RR swingarm up to Jjam (JES BUILT) to get them mated together, the frame braced, and Vince & Hyde steering stem welded on. Very Happy

Now on to fix damaged HD trans. & clutch.....ugh!! Evil or Very Mad

I got what's suppose to be oem boots . And take a look at this piece of shit.. #1 it doesnt fit still has way to much space between the carb. And take at look at carb boot 2 the flange is much thicker than #1 .so I don't think these are oem. even tho they came in oem packaging . Fuck my life ! To top it off I'm working on it outside and it's like 35 degrees feels like 28

Sometimes the boots need to be rotated slightly to get the correct orientation and protrusion of the flanges. Just by the nature of their shape, it can put the flange face out of square easily. See if you can rotate slightly and get the fit better.

Yea I tried still leaves a gap. These cant be oem boots they look cheap the rubber guides to orient them correctly is almost non existent and the flange is way thinner than the oem boot on the left. Thieves is what they are over at Z1 enterprises

The 2 boots are different numbers in the picture .i'm just using them for reference of the flange thickness.

OEM knockoffs? Or they sent the wrong ones? What's your take?

Packaging looks like an OEM knock off. The HONDA part number text on packaging is much more of a BOLD blocky font. You got swindled i'm afraid...since these look so much smaller than the stock originals. The rubber doesn't "Grow" with age lol.

Thanks DJ after comparing them it's obvious there knockoffs. .these people are thieves www.z1enterprises.com they charged me like oem 93$ with shipping. To send garbage parts already contacted them i want my money back fucking thieves.

Check how they don't even align at the seam the boot to the right. Fucking trash

DJ I turned it left I turned it right nothing I tried stretching with a plier that top section down and out a bit nothing. At least I know I ain't crazy .that part has to be exact these cheap oem ones even if it's off by half a mm it's not gonna work 100% its gonna leave some sort of vacuum leak .so frustrating this is the 3rd set I get and another bust. I swear you cant make this shit up.
