What did you do to your bike today

G'day all.
Just did 50,000Km service since rebuild a few years ago. The only major having to put in two helicoils in cam cap holes (front tacho drive cap and front E cap). Lucky their easy to get to. Apart from that everything is as good as the day it was done. Compression cold Lb/sq" 195,200,195,200, Then hot 200,205,200,205. Good enough for me.

Kevin KWD brought his 750 down to my place from Canada on Thurs night. Then yesterday and today we took out the tired old motor and installed a very fresh 82 900 motor I have had sitting around. I last ran it in my R while that motor was being rebuilt so I had already fitted it with solid mounts and it bolted straight into the 750 frame. Turns out Kev already had a 900 exhaust so that fitted right up as well. It’s good to see this motor going to a good home as opposed to sitting in my garage forever.

We used the tried and tested 2 x 4 installation tool along with an engine hoist to act as a third pair of hands. This is the `new' motor going in.

Here she is pretty well finished from the right side.

And Kev bolting on the crash bar on the left side.

Installed Matris fork cartridges in my Triumph Bobber and cleaned and lubed the chain.

What Fun!! Made these up to add the oil cooler to my '79 750(810)F. Over 5,000 miles and hanging in there!

I guess not enough people paid the ransom. I don't care if they if they've changed their policy; I won't post any more pictures on photofucket. Beside, imgur is much better since there's no need to resize pics and you can move them with breaking links.

So I added pics to my original post. And yeah PB is working again, better than it ever did as far as I'm concerned. It always used to be really slow and crashy for me but now it runs fast and smooth. I do feel a little peeved after their previous attempts as extortion however at least all my pics seem to be back.

After my vacation time then it's back to work with some new parts............

This is next evolution in our Vince & Hyde Racing “Works”Superhead and is further development and refinement of our existing (Gen l 185 RWHP) version. It is expected that this will lift our torque and HP further across the operational RPM range as it has improvements that allow an increase of airflow without any increase in valve size over the previous Gen l type.
As of this date this is the highest flowing cylinder ever produced for this model of engine.
Another step closer to our ultimate goal of 200 RWHP.

G'day Captain. That's awesome. Too good to hide on the inside. What material are the valve seats? I'm surprised you haven't taken the flat section out of the ex ports.

Brent's heads are making way more power than anyone ever made out of these DOHC Honda motors AFAIK.

I think you'll get a lot of surprises the more you look at his work on the whole bike.

Seats are beryllium copper.

With these engines and the correct chamber you make more power with the "D"port exhaust than without.

I have no doubt your right. I'm a bit "old skool" in thinking get the old burnt crap out as fast as possible so did massage the D's into O's. I don't get into the red often but when I do she seems to hold the power longer.
Looking at your motors gives me wet dreams. LOL.

Janet and I went for a ride this weekend, as we are coming home we pull up next to a County Sheriff at a light.

I'm on my 1100F, she's on her CBR600RR, he rolls down the window and says " her bike looks better than yours " !!!!

Gotta love a Police officer with a sense of humor !!!!!!!!

As the light turns green, Janet's like well NOW It's Official !!!!!!!!! Police said so !!!!!!!!!

I'm still hearing it 2 days later, ha Very Happy

I count my blessings every day Very Happy

Last weekend we rode with a group of friends for a long lunch ride, one other couple that both ride and 3 guys, by the time we get close to home and stop for gas one last time so we can say goodbyes, it's 4 pm and as everyone is headed their separate ways, one of our friends GORDON, who's a character and loves to ride, says there's way to much daylight left to stop now, I'm like where are you thinking about riding ?
He sets the trap, and Janet bites so off the 3 of us go, when we got home after dark, we'd done 430 miles, our friend GORDON had to do 70 plus miles to get to us and back. He's 64 and rides a 1299 Ducati Panigale, now I don't know wether to call someone that thinks nothing about doing 500 mile plus days on a 1299 Ducati Panigale an iron butt or just plain crazy!!!
Janet and I were happy to get home, but like I said I count my blessings every day !!! Very Happy

For the second time in several weeks, I removed and re-installed the carb on my v65 magna...which to do properly requires draining coolant and removing the radiator as well.

Few weeks ago I pulled the carb to clean it, put it all back together and noticed I was missing the hose clamp on the carb breather. Casually looked for it on the bike and in the garage over the course of several weeks with the thought lurking in my head that it had dropped into one of the intakes. I knew if I took carbs off to look for it, it would not be in the intake, but if I did not take them off again, surely it would be in there and Id be looking at a valve job or worse. Sure enough, it was not in any of the intakes...

I checked the valves on my 1100F and admired how new this motor looks on the inside Very Happy

While valve cover was off, I replaced with another one I'd had polished, looks a lot better than the original one that was looking pretty bad !!!
