It took my CNC guy a couple of months to find time to make these, but he finally finished a small batch for me today. They came out sweet!
His skills are impressive, considering he had to machine in the "flat" for locking the knob into place on the shaft.
And of course the countersunk hole for the flat head screw...
Tomorrow I'll lightly PC these satin black and they'll be done.
Now to find a source for the tiny screws, since those are usually missing as well. They're 2.3x8. McMaster-Carr has M2 and M2.5, but not 2.3. Sillygoose suggested trying one of the two to see if they might self-thread and work. Any other ideas or does someone know of a source?
These will be $40.00 shipped in the U.S. (padded envelope) If the right screw can be found and they're cheap enough, I'll include one with each knob. If you're interested, send me a PM. I only have 14 to offer right now, but there will be more in the future.

Did you look at bel-metric? If they don't have it they could probably get some for you. |

Tom
Call it luck or not but on one of my 1100's I went and purchased an eye glasses repair kit and it worked fine to hold the reset knob. I have an 1100 cluster right here on the shelf and will see if it works on it. |

No worries Phil. We'll find a source for them.
I powder coated them all today, so they're ready to go. The backside was left bare so that the recessed hole with the flat wouldn't get clogged up.
These will be gone in a couple of days, so I already have more on order.

If you can find the screw to go with them, I'll take a knob assembly.

How did you know?
I have one for you, Shawn. This one won't blow up since it's aluminum and not plastic. I'll be in touch very shortly. |

Tom,
Received my odometer reset knob along with the set of 1100F turn signal stem eliminators. Very nice, as always.
If you should locate a source on the screw for the odometer knob, I would appreciate getting on the list to receive one of those to accompany the knob.
Thanks again.

Yes, but the stock screws are often MIA along with the original knobs. The screws are NLA from Honda and it's been a challenge to find a suitable replacement.
Part number for the screw is 90600-MC7-612 in case anyone can locate these somewhere in the world. |

I still have my screw, do you have more of these knobs available? If not, please put me on the list for the second round. |

Tom,
Would it be possible, or would you have any interest, in having the CNC program modified to accept a more common m2.3 replacement such as https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LW0HIB4 It wouldn't be exactly stock, and I don't know the dimensions of the knob to know if it can be done, but it may fit the needs of a lot of people (like myself) where it would look better than the missing items they have now. Perhaps not this screw, but something along those lines.
Or, and I don't have an original screw as a template, have a small batch of screws made by some one like a US micro screw. There are custom small batch (in screw terms) who could likely make very close copies. I'm not sure how many people need the screws, but it could be a solution. Then you could see the screw and knob as a set.
They are just thoughts I had, nothing more.

I am SURE I have an extra screw in case you want to go the route of sending it off to US Micro screw for duplication.
Let me know and I will locate it.

Hey Brett,
Anything is possible but it all depends on cost when it comes to making custom parts. I have a couple of the OEM screws and could ask U.S. Micro if they can make them. If they were interested, I can send one. Then it's just a matter of how many I'd have to buy and what the breakeven point is. Modifying the present design to accomodate the screw you mentioned is a possibility too, but I think finding the correct screw should be the priority.
Let's see what can be done to keep it all original looking.
BTW - I'm presently sold out of the knobs but hope to have another batch in a month or so.

I have a bag of 8 of these screws nos from Honda. No idea why I bought them as they were over $5Aud each in Australia. I have a nos knob as well for a member here (please no puns at this time). if he still wants it. So I could send the lot to him to those prepared to pay a few dollars for such a pissant screw. |

The question is - will this 2.5 thread work ok instead of the intended 2.3?
Chico recently pointed me toward a kit of laptop computer screws on Amazon that contains various sized metric screws including (50) 2.3 phillips head screws. The head is different from stock though, so I'm not sure how it will fit in the tapered recess. They may not be long enough either. |

The 2.5 is a different thread pitch than the 2.3 . Maybe they would custom make a run . |

I just got a fresh batch of new knobs. If you want one, send me a PM with your PayPal info and I'll get an invoice right out to you. (no gift payments) $40 each shipped in the U.S.
Sorry, I never found a source for the screws.
