...how about the new Kwaka?
http://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/new-bikes/2017/october/2018-kawasaki-z900rs-revealed-tokyo-show/
To me the CB1100 Honda has for sale these days should've been more like this. Lighter and more power, better brakes, suspension, etc, but still keeping the "flavour" of the old bikes.
I am really tempted by this Z900RS. |

I agree, that's a nice looking bike, true to the original looks but with real power and modern technology. I'd buy one of these over a modern CB. |

I hope they sell the hell out of them. Maybe Honda would get a message out of it. |

I'm buying one....
I spoke with a dealer in Wisconsin yesterday.
The US debut will be this weekend in NY.
In two weeks Kawasaki dealers are meeting with Kawasaki executives to discuss distribution and pre-orders.
I'm excited for the Z900RS and had always hoped Honda would have built something of similar style....rather then the boring CB1100F.

I like the 1100rs, but we only get the ex in the u.s. The honda is very nice if you see one in person.
As for the kaw, it's close, it'll prob grow on me. Round turn signals and a gas tank that is truer the one it's supposed to be emulating would help. |

I like it and would be willing to sell both of mine to get one. Coincidentally, I believe I saw a 73 with that paint earlier today. Unfortunately, I couldn't catch up to him to verify. |

After much studying of the specs and poring over the pics, I think I'm in. My local dealer says he might have one in stock next week.
I can't see anything bad about this bike, IMO, of course! Some would like it more true to the original, some would like it more advanced. To me I see the perfect balance. I'm impressed with how they kept the weight down, which is key to really let that motor show off. It seems to me that the "de-tuning" of the motor will make it perfect for the street riding I do. The "jaffa/root beer" paint scheme is the one, of course! |

I thought Honda was coming out with a naked 1000 in 2018 based on the CBR1000RR engine? I thought I read it would be 135+ HP

NOTE:
The engine in the 2018 is NOT the NEW CBR1000RR motor. It is from the previous edition.
Cycle world quote:
"This bare-bones sportbike is still powered BY THE SAME liquid-cooled, DOHC, 998cc (75mm bore, 56.5mm stroke) inline-four that was used IN THE PREVIOUS MODEL, but said engine now produces 20 more horsepower—145 hp at 10,500 rpm—and 76.7 pound-feet of torque at 8,250 rpm with a much-flatter curve.
STILL an interesting concept for those who desire a Honda (that would be ME). I currently own a 2013 CB1000R and it is a VERY NICE bike although some would say "uniquely styled"
Wonder how this 2018 New Concept will be priced??
Anyone heard anything?
Regards
Ricardo |

Uh, ya, and I just rode it through the Nasho down to Stanwell Park and back today. Fun bike. But, I've never owned a Kwak and I like this and I'm overcompensating for the 20 year riding break I shouldn't have taken. None of this makes sense but...also the mortgage is paid off and I'm feeling generous with myself, or something like that...
That Honda CB1000R does look cool. No doubt about that. But I don't feel the "want". |

I guess at 64 i'm not into the new stuff Honda has. I have a 1997 Shadow 1100 Spirit that my wife and I love to ride and i'm very happy with it. I sold my Blackbird, just did not ride it very much any more. My CB750F is my one up Bike.
Happy with what I have.
