Interesting article yes. Eye catching wheels - not so much for me, although I like the boomies.

They show the reverse comstars which came out after the original comstars? IMO the originals are the only ones I like.....

Never realized some had steel parts. Which bikes came with those?

The first comstar design, as shown in Tom's pic had alloy rims and hubs and steel spokes regardless of which bike they were fitted to.
The earliest of these also had black plastic covers over the rim/spoke rivets, but later did away with these.

Once they went to the reverse comstar and then the later 'boomie' they were all alloy parts inc the spokes, again regardless of which bike they were fitted to. The only steel in these is the nuts and bolts securing the spokes to the hubs.
