Finally finished my 1100F resto

Well, it's taken me a long time, but I've finally got to the end of my 1100F restoration. I started dismantling her in 2015, and have been (very) slowly putting her back together. Naturally she's chock-full of forum goodness with contributions from all the usual suspects. Thanks guys for making all this stuff available. A quick run-down from what I can remember: new rings and bearing shells, Gene's valve guide seals, V&H cam chain stuff, clutch pusher, oil pick-up, primary dampers, clutch dampers, vf1000 rear wheel, vf1000 calipers all round, braided lines, Pirelli Phantoms, Marving exhaust, vapour-blasted all the alloy bits, powder-coated frame, 4 new indicators. Probably more lost in the mists of time Wink

Painted in Jaguar's Italian Racing Red.

I apologise for not starting a build-thread, but will be happy to answer any questions.

You have a beautiful bike .

Are the bins in the garage full of leftover F or TR6 bits?

Thanks mate. Most bins are full of DOHC stuff, but I've got a few with VF parts too. Only one TR bin so far Wink

That's it for the time being I'm afraid. Spending too much time in the car these days. Not that I'm getting old or anything. Rolling Eyes

My friends think otherwise, but thanks for the encouragement. Unfortunately the Healey's are 3-4 times the price of TR6s over here Sad

cheers Keith. Jag? Not sure if you're having a laugh or not? It's been mis-identified plenty of times as an MG, but I've never heard the TR6 called a Jag. And by a Pom?

Well done... I now have a benchmark in terms of quality and finish to follow as my F is under way and is the continental the same as yours... however I need to finish my RC first which is well under way.

As you say the guys on this forum have been fantastic for knowledge and support of parts.. great to see another F back in tip top condition..

I hope you now get the opportunity to enjoy the the benefits of your patience and hard work

I remember when those TR6's were quite popular over here and always loved them. I bet they're easy to work on - how are they for parts availability?

Except for the cosmetic differences and bigger pistons used in the VF1000F calipers, they are indeed an easy and direct swap.

Thanks Tom. I think you guys got something like 80% of the production run of TR, and most of the forums are indeed US-centric. I was amazed at the comprehensive parts availability for these things. Body panels and mechanicals are NOS or good repros. I had a pair of door windows/rubbers clips and handle shipped to Oz recently, and had them in 6 days!

Indeed. The larger pistons is the reason I swapped calipers.
