Hello

Finaly I got to ride the CB1100 today for the first time ever. It's been sitting waiting with "adjustments" beeing made for well over a year.

Yesterday I took it around the local streets to bed the rings in. Nearly fell off when I locked the front brakes, but all good.

Today I took it for my regular spin up the Putty Rd. and stuff me this bike is trying to worm it's way into my favourite.

Man what a fun bike. It has power way beyond my ability. It goes around corners well, stops well, sounds awsome and looks heaps better than any other bike I saw today.

A couple of the other dudes there had got new bikes this week and last week. I had to prompt these blokes to take a look at my bike. One dude who just dumped $33K on a new BMW said "I like the colour scheme. Did these come out in 750. I think this is what I went to buy new but ended up joining the army across the road from the dealership".

Other dudes were almost as un educated. Oh well, next weekend. I still had one of, if not the best ride I've had in years.

Hi Scott, fantastic to see you getting some enjoyment after all the dramas and expense. It must owe you close to the $33K by now anyway. Only joking, well done, you must be stoked

Cheers for the comments and well wishes.

Norm I reckon it owes me $13000 or so. Another mate on Sunday said why would you spend that sort of money on an old bike. He's a good dude, but clearly not very smart so I didn't bother asking about the $5000 or $7000 exhaust (can't remember) that he put on his Bimota.

Have a great day
Scott

Hi Scott, your bike will never be worth $13,000 if you wanted to sell it, but the thing is your mate with the Bimota and or any of the other $30,000 bikes is they drop $13,000 in the first couple of years and to them that is ok, just the way it is. More people will drool or want to talk about your bike that any new $30,000 bike

I don't think you can dump Bimotas into the "any of the other $30,000 bikes" camp.

Bimota make a fantastic bike. The current one Steve has he bought new but it was nearly 2 years old. I'll have to check but I think he ended up getting it from a dealer in W.A for $25K about $15K or so discount just because of age.

I would love a Bimota with a Honda engine, but I doubt that will ever happen. Even a replica SOHC Bimota would do

Well there you go Scott, just because a Bimota is 2 years old and still brand new and it dropped $15k, says a lot for your $13k "investment"

G'day Norm

Invest is the word I like to use often when talking about these bikes. Even when I know better

Just about a month ago I put an old beat up Honda Dream on ebay. I paid stuff all for it years ago and I have tried on 2 occasions giving it to mates who liked the idea of it. Well after a year of trying to give it away I sold it for just over $2500.

Have a good one
Scott

Hi Scott, many years ago when we were young we used to hang out at a hamburger joint, all Brit bikes, you couldn't go near the gutter where the bikes were all parked because of all the oil everywhere and impossible if it was wet. Anyway one night a bloke turned up on a Honda Dream and asked if he could hang out with us, We dubbed him Hippy Honda and as long as he parked that Jap shitbox Dream around the corner he could stay. He continued coming back for years and always parked around the corner. Who would have ever thought the humble Dream would become sought after but they certainly are
