I stayed in the Honda family and scored this on Ebay. 2003 ST1300 ABS with 4666 original miles on it for $5700, lots of little extras on it as well. I've been wanting to give one of these a try for a while so the wife and I can go on some weekend getaways in comfort. I've been over to the ST sites and there some good info there on them.
My wife and I are flying up to Kansas City Friday night, picking it up on Saturday and riding it back to just south of Atlanta. Going to take 4 days to do it without overdoing the miles per day. It should be around 840 miles to back home. KC to Branson, MS. then to Memphis, TN, then to Hunstville AL, then home. Should be fun, also a little nervous on a bike that I haven't given the go over myself.

I figured your Naked Wing was going to be your Sports-Tourer.
At that low mileage you will just be breaking the ST in.
The trip sounds like a great way to introduce yourself to your new ride. |

Nice score! You will enjoy the power and smooth ride of that baby! If I was 'allowed' to have more than one bike, a sport touring machine would be in the garage.
Have a safe trip!

Great bike. I have an ST1100 and a buddy has a 1300. Much more power than mine. Nice comfortable rider though. Good score. |

Nice, I tried to talk my dad into one of these but he went for the funky looking Goldwing that looks more like a couch then a bike to me.
Jim how long are the forks, what size and are they cartridge? They look to be at least 43mm?
Peace, Jim |

I am picking it up tomorrow in KC. They are 43 mm non-adjustable cartridge forks, don't know how long they are. |

I went Sport Touring several years ago and never looked back.
Started with a 1995 Kawasaki Concours 1000, then went to the ST1100 (had 3 of them), and now I have an '05 ST1300.
You will never run out of power on an ST - whether its an 1100 or 1300
Also have a V-Strom 1000.
I'm equally as comfortable on the V-Strom as the ST, doing 400 mile days. |

Good pick-up at that price and mileage!
There are a few of us that have them as our proverbial "Mile Munchers." |

I take my 1100F up in the mountains whenever I can, but truth be told I've taken my FJR on my last dozen trips to bike week. Nothing beats a big windshield and a daylong seat for a 500 mile day.
Next time your heading for the hills, give me a holler as you pass through Dawsonville. |

Will do, I went to KC and picked it up, my wife and I rode back on it. This is the first bike she call ours, haha. It is typical Honda engineering, very finished and refined. It handles great and is not as heavy as I thought it would be. We put 1100 miles on it in 4 days, took some great back roads from KC to Branson Ms, to Memphis Tn, down to Huntsville AL and back home to Atl. This is a great bike and looks brand new. Total score!
Oh and the guy sent me a brand new Sargent seat for it as a surprise when I got home. |

Nunzio, very nice find. I am seriously looking at a CTX1300. They are still available at a very good discount! |

The CTX a bit tuned down from the ST, and of course the styling is different. The CTX's were not very popular and not made very long, 2 years? Parts availability may be an issue sooner than later in these. I looked at them too for something different.
If you go with the CTX get the delux model with the Stereo, it has power plugs, ABS and some other stuff the standard model doesn't. |
