Less than 90 days

Took this CBX from a bike that hadn't seen the road in a few years to this gorgeous naked example in under 90 days. Touched just about everything except deep into the motor.
It's ready to be loaded in the morning for it's debut at a local bike show this weekend.

JR, I hope you just replaced the bodywork, because the original looked to be in excellent condition the way it was

None of it was good enough to re-use. But, everything was stripped to bare plastic or steel. The tank was flushed and coated with POR-15. One of the side panels was cracked and required repair.
Frankly, I lost count on how many times I blocked these parts...........in the end, well worth the effort.

Gorgeous - I love it. If I ever get an 81 or 82 CBX, that's the route I'll take with the restoration.

Did you have the rotors grooved and refinished ? If so, who did you use? I have a set of those I want to use on my 750.....

No. that's my neighbor/riding buddy, Ken (has an 1100F) that helps me on many occasions including set-up and tear-down at this show.

Unfortunately the new owner was having a bad "chemo" weekend. Could only take about 1/2 hour on Saturday and the same on Sunday. He was able to accept his award at the presentation. I'm truly happy for him.

That's funny but true Roger!! Another work of art by J.R., when I hit the lotto, I'll would like to own a stone stock CBX and a J.R. custom version.
Wish I could have come over to see the show, but not THAT weekend... Crying or Very sad

Yes, Glenn's previous CBX.

I use TrueDisk exclusively for all of my brake rotor resurfacing. The owner/operator, Tom usually has your rotors back to you in just a few days.

+1 Tom does great work and is FAST. He also gives a discount for repeat customers. I've had him do 5 sets for me now and I can't imagine not having him resurface them before doing a complete brake job. I had him cross drill and surface grind the rotors for my '78 GL1000 recently and they came out sweet.
