It's finally on the lift. Engine is tired at almost 65,000 mile. Time for a rebuild. |

That's exciting. And indeed, great looking bike!
How do you like the shocks? And what bars are those? |

I am with you on the rebuild. Almost 70k on my 1100 and the small cam chain is shot. Along with a few other things.
Good wrenching to you. |

That swingarm is a repop I bought from moto gp works in California a couple years ago. Had a cb400sf aluminum arm I was going to install but this one was a bolt on job and I like the look of it alot better. |

Captains guide and tensioner made. These parts are way to pretty to put inside the engine! |

Finally got a chance to pull the cylinder studs. Time to get the Case degunked and cleaned up for paint. A buddy dropped off a microclean coldjet pressure cleaner that uses dry ice to knock off dirt and loose pait/gaskets. going to give it a try tomorrow. All the studs came out easy but one. It required a couple cycles of heat and 6in1 but finally let go. Got a little scared, I thought it was going to pull the threads out of the cases. |

Even if it did, you can easily Heli coil it. |

Cylinders are bored and honed, as soon as I get the rest of the valves lapped and seated I'm ready to reassembled the engine! |

You have no idea, getting pretty excited. Still need to go through the carbs, blast and repaint header and make a bracket for the new oil cooler. The finish line is in sight! |

Finally finished the engine rebuild and got a chance to put 50 miles or so on it between rain showers. Very happy with the way it runs. No leaks and nothing fell off so we are calling this a win |

It doesnt sound half bad either, just a pain in the ass too keep it looking good. Had it powder coated a couple years ago but that didnt seem to last as long as I had hoped. |
