yeah i get that. what i don't get is how you all know what to buy and from where?

norway does not have the customization-pedigree the us has, hence the daft question.

Well, by talking to each other, sharing tips here on what works and what doesn't, I know you're in Norway (beautiful country), and don't have a big Vintage Bike community to tap, but there's lots of knowledge here, and several Euro vendors who are cool, and the Internet gives you an advantage.

Here's an example, if you're in the market for stainless steel brake lines:

http://www.slingshotcycles.com/81-82-CB750F-Stainless-Steel-Brake-Line-Kit_p_84.html

A huge upgrade from the OEM rubber lines, just bought a set for my 750 build.

Lots of knowledge here, and we like to help, so don't be afraid to ask. Some one may say, "Use the Search function, we discussed that last year!", but mostly, we'll help with your project, as much as we can from this far away, LOL.

appreciate the brakeline-link and the search-function reminder. have to say that search-function is quite usefull, but i kinda like talking to people in real time with this beeing a forum and all, you know? i should probably get those brakelines but right now i was looking to browse whatever place that might have CB900 parts, i have tried ebay but like searching, you gotta know what to look for and i could use some input and was hoping for some kinda store. you know, like wherever the cafe-racers buy their uniformed conformed motorcycle-stuff. there has to be a cb900f equivilant of cafe-racer-stuff right ?

No easy answer to your search. Personal preference on upgrades. Best answer I can give you is to search the build threads. When I first started looking, my favorite build thread was toddk 1100 build. Down to earth serious build. Built for fun riding. Not for show. Hope this helps.

Best bet for help chopping your bike into a cafe is probably not found here. Best bet would be to search the advert sections of the magazines, and look for retailers that cater to the market. Best of luck.

just to clarify, i don't want to cafe any bike.

thanks for the input, and to whomever said norway was a beautiful place, i gotta say meh. incomparable to the rocky mountains and alaska,

oh yeah, fun fact pertaining "beautifull" norway. do you know what the prime minister and entire crew of politicians did after a massmurder-guy killed off 77 people?

they summoned those who wanted to participate somehow down at the mayors office and stood there singing the norwegian equivalent of heal the world while holding a rose infront of them and the cameras all filmed this.
it was not beautiful at all and i've never felt so estranged from my fellow norwegians as i did that day.
that turn-the-cheek-like-jesus-gesture the world was invited to watch by our socalled leaders to see was so false and nauseating it was mindboggling. the whole charade re-defined my view on a previous sane country with knowledgable working for the norwegian people. major wakeupcall for me, so yeah, norway isn't so beautifull any longer. and i unfortunately disagree.

how you like them apples. ok, i'll go and not post under the influence if i can help it.. from now.

Nowhere have you listed our Vince & Hyde Racing parts.
These include the cam chain components that are a critical fittment for eliminating the failures of the OEM design.

On top of everything that's been said here, there is a lot of conversation on Facebook on this type of thing. This forum always gets regular references as a go to resource. However, for general discussions on options from a very broad range of people (including many of the leading lights from this forum), it might be interesting to go there if you are new to all of this and want to explore a range of possibilities.

Regards,

Max

P.S. You will still get people making Monty Python references the moment you mention you are from Norway, however ... sorry its just a global thing now ...!

i don't understand the purpose of facebook other than introducing your boss to miss psycho-stalker and friends.
that said, us non-facebookers have to deal with a large white text conveniently covering half a screen if we check out facebookstores and similar.

The way I use it is as a series of "clubs" where I can share ideas and information or get feedback on stuff. I never used to use it, now I use it regularly. It has the benefit of being quite immediate in terms of conversations, and has generated some interesting conversations.

Regards,

Max

i used to have something similar to facebook only with nicknames. a dating site really. had alot of great times and met alot of nice people. have you noticed there is a limit to how many you can talk to without loosing track of the conversation? also, have you noticed people can loose it over something trivial as a like-button-click? oh yeah, and have you noticed how child-like grown people can act when they try to win an arguement?

facebook itself is a great theme for a discussion, and i bet it's awesome but alot of work keeping up with all the people you can interact with.
probably different for married versus daters but i dunno, i'm guessing '.')

My biggest problem is remembering where I saw things ...

This forum along with one other used to be my only "social media" interaction, now I'm having multiple conversations about a range of things that interest me. I'm still committed to this place, but the FB stuff is a very good additional element. For me its worth it, you can interact as much or as little as you like. Most of the groups I'm on are well managed (even the ones I admin ...), so we don't get much poor behaviour, and if we do it gets shutdown hard.

Regards,

Max
