I just spoke to Dave and he sounded pretty darned good, considering what he's been through. His spirits are very good and he sounds quite optimistic, although he knows a full recovery could take up to a year. As Chico mentioned, they got the cancer and he won't need additional treatment for that. He has 3-4 more surgeries ahead to get all the plumbing repaired and reconnected. But the good news/prognosis is that he should eventually resume a normal life.
Dave really appreciates all the kind thoughts and prayers from everyone here. Keep it up - it works! |

Dave called me a little while ago and sounded good. He has two surgeries scheduled over the next several days, so hopefully he'll be more "buttoned up" after they're done. I didn't realize it but he's been in the hospital since late June and will probably be there for a couple more weeks.
