Anyone Able to Photoshop Some Paint Colors for Me?

I know it's been a long time since I've posted, but I had a lot of "life" happen. Anyway, I'm looking to get ramped up on my CB900F project again and wanted to get a visual for the kind of color scheme I wanted to used on the bike.

After scouring the Internet for potential schemes and such, I found this beauty and thought it suited what I was looking for in my resto-mod project. I found the paint samples on Urekem paints. They're by no means the final color choice, but they're in the ballpark of what I'm looking for.

I don't have much skill with photoshop and I don't have my laptop with me at my annual training anyway, so I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to photoshop the scheme for me to get my blood pumping for this project again. Lava orange for the main color, grabber blue primary side color, and lemon yellow for the smaller stripe going around.

First off, that is a beautiful bike, very well done!

My opinion is you should sell that tank and side covers and paint something that is in need of paint. I don't know if that tank is original or a repaint but it looks great. I like it as is so if the new scheme doesn't work out you can go back to this setup.

It's not my bike, just one that's close to what I'm looking to do with the paint for the overall design. Believe me, I would love to be the owner of that beauty... Which I'm having trouble finding now. I blame Google.

I can help out with the photoshop, but I'm not sure when I'll have time this week.

Wanted to clarify the color combo. Did you want:

White -> Orange
Red -> Blue
Black Stripe -> Yellow

That would be the combo. Would've been so much easier just to write it out that way instead. My wife thinks the orange and blue won't go together, but I think it looks good in my head.

Not a huge rush on the picture. Also thinking about using a hugger orange instead. It's much appreciated.

I think orange and blue go well together, in fact they are complimentary colors. Whenever I have to pick colors, I always use the color wheel. The infographic explains how, but an example is orange and blue sit across from each other, so any 2 colors that are opposite are complimentary. In my opinion, the yellow is the one that may stand out, but I wont' comment until I see it on the screen, it may be too loud but that may be what you're going for. Only way to know is to try! I'll post it here when I'm done.

Schwinn had some bikes in the late 60's I think that were Orange/Blue and Yellow/Blue.......They were cool looking...Suzuki Motocross bikes at one time were Yellow with blue stripes...also looked real nice..... Jjam has a nice F bike that's yellow with the blue 82' decal scheme....again, cool looking....

Yellow and blue are good together especially in sky light, as it naturally has an abundance of both.

Orange and blue are the Gulf Racing colours. That paint scheme is one of my all-time faves. I look forward to seeing what this turns out like.

I'm a fan of orange too, my favorite drink is Orange Bang. So naturally I plastered it all over my track bike.

Thanks guys! It's much appreciated with the opinions and soon-to-be mock ups. Definitely stoked to see how it turns out.

As for the stripe, it will either be the yellow or a dark grey to match the frame and rims. The tank is currently a metallic orange with a black stripe going down the center. It doesn't look bad from about 20 feet away, but you can tell it was a home job.

The scheme is to stay true with the era, a tipping of the hat, and the colors are to modernize it and suit my taste. I have a lot of research for potential engine upgrades and things of that nature, but I thought I'd start here to rejuvenate my efforts, especially since I could get the paint done while upgrading other parts.

was working on some other graphics stuff so I had a chance to pop this out real quick. Did my best to match the color but didn't have time to dial it in.

I did a variation of it, one that I prefer with similar color themes.

Lastly, a more minimalist approach.

Nice work, Z3RO! I like how #1 turned out, the blue and orange seem to hit it off quite nicely. I'm thinking the yellow stripe will have to be gray to break things up since the orange and blue are already bold colors.

I like the other two as well, though. Definitely makes it a tough decision. My goal is for vintage feel with modern appeal. Might consider swapping the blue and orange around.

The more I look at it, the more I like #3. I'll have to mull it over but I'm thinking I'll switch the orange and blue on it. Then I an also use the blue as an accent color all over the bike.

I vote you should do it! Looks to good in black and white to pass up. I hope I didn't cause everyone to repaint their bikes because of this post. Whoops!

So a question for everyone that's been following this post: would adding a strip down the "hump" as well as having the side graphics be overkill? It's so much blank canvas!

glad you started this post bikeboy, my boys and I are building a single shocker and we have already decided on a black and white paint skeam. I was just replacing the blue with black but now after seeing the reverse I kind of like that. My youngest son wanted to go with a white swing arm but I think that would be two much and I already had it powder coated silver.

Bikeboy, I think using the darker line really brings it together, whereas the yellow almost made it too flashy. After seeing a few of these, I'm almost wondering if I should use blue as the main color and orange for the sides, then your everything together with a darker stripe to match the frame and rims. And thanks for giving me credit on starting the post.

Yellow and blue is a pretty killer combo pontiacstogo, but I've got a thing for orange. 😉
