After getting a PM from a forum member saying that he would shame me publicly if I did not posted some pictures of my Larry tribute bike, I quickly took a couple of pictures over the weekend. I cannot remember the exact name of the forum member was it Daffy Duck or Loony bird Oh it was something like that!

I got the bike from Chris ( Larry,s wife) in December as a rolling chassis, I supplied the engine, trans, open belt primary, ignition, carb and a couple of other parts. I even got to use a couple of my Grandpa's parts that I inherited, which is always a very cool thing. He rode from 1932-1982, I got to use the air cleaner cover and some axle covers.

The Bike is a 1970 Harley Davidson FLH, it was Larry's first Harley and the first Harley I ever rode. Larry knew I would be hooked on getting a shovelhead if I rode his so he let me take it for a week when he was on vacation. What a great friend and it worked I am hooked on shovelheads! I put the bike back exactly the way Larry had it I rode it to Chris's this weekend and she could not believe how nice it looked. I will always always cherish this bike and can feel Larry's spirit when I ride it. RIP LARRY!!

Matt

Fitting tribute to our good friend Larry! Funny, whenever I hear that tune from Montrose, I'll be thinking of Larry and his Sammy Hagar hair!!

Cheers Matt!

I appreciate all the good intention and also the effort and skills that go into a project like this, but I never had a use for a bike like that, sorry.

I guess that's what we call a sideways compliment. Yes, not everyone is into cruisers or Harleys, but rather than end a compliment with a comment like that, you're better off to say nothing at all.

Matt was one of Larry's best friends and is going out of his way to help Chris sell Larry's giant collection of parts. He's a really nice guy to boot. I admire what he's done and it's going to be a special ride to him for as long as he has it. Why spoil the moment?

Come on, guys. It is just about the bike not about the work. Rolling Eyes The fact that Matt does all that is totally beyond any criticism. This is a forum. You are supposed to be able to voice your opinion.

+2. Some of us "evolve" into cruisers. I've been riding Hondas for 35 years - thumpers, twins, and fours. I'm now salivating over an Indian Scout. I can't believe how nice that 1970 Harley looks. 5 years ago, I would have turned my nose up at it. Nice work Matt!
