Yesterday I lost one of my best friends - Pete aka "750K Pete" (known as Raven on this site). He died after suffering a heart attack while delivering jelly rings to a distribution warehouse. He missed his 69th birthday by two weeks. Many on the NE Rides will know Pete as the slowest rider ever to come on the rides. He would ride at one speed - his! This led to an interesting "rescue" mission on the 2011 Catskill ride, but no one seemed to mind. Pete was an incredibly kind person who marveled at how accepting we were to a non-F'er and tried to make the rides. Work and family often prevented him from coming, but he looked forward to each and every ride.
Pete, Godspeed and I will miss you...

Brian,
It sounds like he was a great guy and had the same passion for these bikes that we do. I hope you remember him frequently and reflect on the good times you had with Pete.

RiIP Raven. I didn't know him, but we are all friends through our love of this forum. Even if we don't have our bikes anymore. I can honestly say there is not another forum like it. We all are friends because of our passion. Bikes |

Pete's passing is a shock Brian. I met him a couple of times. I remember when we stopped for lunch on our ride through RT 218 past West Point. Pete ate a whole pizza pie by himself. He seemed like the calmest person I've ever met. You had a great relationship/friendship with Pete and I'm sure you'll miss him. You two were like the opposite sides of the same coin. I wish him God speed but that wouldn't apply so I'll say God slow Pete.

Sad News indeed Brian. I will never forget riding with him down to the Yuengling Brewery and he rode with no helmet while we were in PA.
RIP Pete |

Very sorry to hear this, Brian. Pete was one of the friendliest and most unflappable guys I've met. I'm sorry I won't be able to ride with him again. |

Sorry to hear this Brian. I remember Pete well being a former 750C guy who was welcomed in to the f'ers.
I remember him being a guy who rode in all weather too. One time I think he rode from Long Island in freezing rain with skull cap & no gloves. Rest in peace Pete. |

You know boys, as the pages of our calendars go slipping from the present into the past, so are we all. And none of us know when we will twist our last throttle. Let's continue to appreciate the camaraderie we have in this brotherhood and make the best of what we have here until we go off into the wild blue yonder. |
