Got my 1100f running the last couple days took it for its maiden voyage ran great for about 6 city blocks then quit like it was starving for fuel? What's the problem? Help  |

My obvious question is, Is your petcock turned to the ON position...?
If so then you have other issues...

If you still have it, betcha its a bad vacuum fuel petcock. Take it off and throw it as far as you can. Don't think about it, just do it. You will thank me later. |

It's also possible that your cap is not venting, allowing air into the tank to replace the fuel leaving. When this happens opening the cap will allow you to run again, at least until it happens again. If this is the case you may be able to clean it, or will need to replace. |

The reserve is quite big on these bikes, the primary tube on the petcock sticks way up or at least it does on mine, you may have sucked in some air, or I had a similar issue and one of the fuel inlet passages on my carbs had a piece of old rubber blocking it and starved out one carb, it ran but once I'd get into it it would sputter a little. Only if you tank is super clean I'd suggest trying res position on the petcock. Good luck |
