Longer swingarm pivot bolt

I could use a slightly longer swingarm pivot bolt, anyone familiar with a bike that uses a M16 pivot bolt that is slightly longer than the 1100f bolt?

The one I measured is M16x385 and I could use use a few extra mm to catch a few more threads and look better.

I could machine down some spacers but would have to send them out to be done, a longer bolt would be a better solution if one exists exists.

You could counterbore the bracket and get that nut "down in the hole" some more.
Or c-bore brackets on both sides and split the difference.

There are spacers behind the footpeg brackets that could be machined to get the clearance but I am looking to avoid any machining and just slip a longer bolt in.

1980-1982 CBX uses a 16mm pivot bolt. Don't know how long they are.

The Yamaha MT-09 has a 16mm bolt, but can't find its length, plus being "modern" it might well be narrower ...

I measured what I believe to be a late model CBX swing arm pivot bolt. 15-1/4" measured from under head of bolt to end . is 16mm for sure. I have 81 CBX roller I will look at it tomorrow, it is in another location.

So it would be basically the same length, maybe 2mm longer than the F bolt.

Thanks guys, I don't think 2mm gets me where I need to go but to be sure I will pull the bolt in the bike and measure it in case it is shorter than the one I have on the shelf.

I have options on making a bolt or machining the spacers and will think it over.

Why not 16mm stainless bar cut to size and threaded both ends ...?

I didn't put the washer behind the pivot bolt nut and it gave me enough threads to get to the end of bolt. I've been running it this way a year and a half, no problems..

That is another option as I have the washers on both ends, your setup doesn't look bad.

We can stop looking for a longer bolt, I have someone that will make a nice SS one for me if I wish to go that route. Plus I can I can get the spacers/washers reduced if the stock bolt gets used.
