Keith, that Vincent is about as English as I am. The bike has been completely re-engineered and can be anywhere from 1300-1600cc with cylinder heads that look original only from the outside. That said, it's beautiful, fast, reliable and very well done but there are rumblings in the paddock about how it got included.

I have been told the FJ1200's on the US team were 180hp reliable, 200 and you take you chances. Also that there ran better with the lower fairing removed, I guess there is a heat issue.

Maybe T-Rex already had this figured out, if you can find it a recent Classic Racer featured the T-Rex Harris Honda reviewed by Alan Cartcart. The one interesting thing I found was the rear shock angle. The shock was positioned so that the distance from the swingarm pivot to lower shock mount matches the distance from the swingarm pivot to upper shock mount.

Most lay down shocks to create a progressive spring rate.

Progressive suspension movement is beneficial for motocrossers landing from big jumps. For road racing and the limited suspension movement this is not desirable and in fact can make matching spring and damping rates problematic.

What amazes me the most about the T-Rex is its
ability to cut race winning laps with such a spindly looking swing arm.

I disagree entirely, rising rate "is" very desirable and matching spring and damper rate is not any more difficult than conventional non rising rate set-ups.

I am going out on a limb but think this is a CMR version of the XR69 Suzuki, CrMo 4130 swingarm. The solo shock requires all the bracing.

T-Rex Honda uses a twin shock but the lower mount is very near the axel, amounts to similar support.

I know Denis at CMR swears by the steel arms, he won't produce aluminium ones.
