I took a chance on these and they arrived today, a set of NOS Dell'Orto carbs setup by Malossi back in 1982 and sitting ever since:
They are direct lift round slide carbs similar to the Keihin CR so would be perfect for my 985 project. Or do I keep them while I wait for my HB2/HB3 to show up? Would certainly need to upgrade to some velocity stacks and lose the included plastic yellow foam pod filters. |

Use them on the 985 and then swap the onto the HB when it arrives and save for CRS in the mean time ...

Max |

Checked them over and everything looks good, very clean if different from the CV and CR I have seen.
Below are the float needle valve and the two independent floats that come in three different weights based on your need. The floats slide up and down on the posts with a small circiip holding them on. Like the CR/FCR carbs you can quickly change the main jet thru the bowl drain bolt.
The carb body spacing is determined by the mounting frame and you supply the fuel to each carb body via tees in the fuel supply line
The only glitch looks to be the carb spacing, 80-95-80. Any ideas or will I need to cobble something together? |

Cut and splice (weld) or have a new spacer machined. |
