The day after Thanksgiving, I started having pain in my lower abdomen.
The next morning I checked into the hospital for a laparoscopic appendectomy. What fun!
Of course I'm 500 miles from home in Chico, CA, but it's my old stomping grounds and I have friends and family here.
Surgery went fine, I'm up and around and the pain is almost bearable. I'm still planning to go Wednesday and Thursday and jam with my old band from 40 years ago, and finish my vacation as planned, it'll just be a few days later...
Anyone that ordered valve seals or cam holder bolts, barring any other surprises, I'll be home and shipping by next Monday as notified by email, sorry for the delay. |

Get well soon.
Better off without your appendix anyway.
I parted company from mine with a lot of ill feeling. |

Thanks guys.
I really got off easily I suppose. I walked into the ER on Saturday AM, it was empty, they took me right in, by late that afternoon the bleeding was over, and everything was smooth sailing.
That wing of Enloe Hospital was rebuilt, added to and updated within the year, so it was quite nice actually. Same hospital my dad was born in, in 1930.
I'm not missing the appendix, we weren't on good terms there towards the end. Time to move on... |

Despite how long you have been together, some times its just better to go your separate ways. |

At least it didn't take the house, the car or the dog when it left ...

Glad to hear you are OK.. 40 years ago I had a friend once that drank a beer that had about two inches of beach sand in the bottom of the bottle. He did this on a bet for about six dollars in change that was piled on the cooler. Well, he guzzled the beer and won the bet.
Later that night, his appendix burst and he spent a week in the hospital with peritonitis.
The night he got out of the hospital , it was nickle beer night at a local pub where "The Good Rats" played later in the night.....
I still remember him holding the stitches together with his hands( no laparoscopic appendectomy then), while muttering something about "adhesions" while he vomited 5 cent beers out in the parking lot before the band started.
I miss hanging out with him, as he was a fun guy...
That's my appendix story ..Glad to hear yours is in order now.. |
