The "wheelie problem" will put lesser riders in the weeds. You can lengthen the swingarm but it will mess with the geometry and shocks. Looks like gyros are the next big adventure.
Likely at the razors edge of what is "period acceptable" but going with old AMA or Nascar rules, if it doesn't say you can, it must be legal. The ignitions are without restriction, the gyro controls the wheelie through the ignition, that's the rational anyway.
Great weekend results, looking forward to seeing video.

Yes he does, and they are the gel type which makes them a little better than conventional types.
They are in transit to him as this is written.

In looking at the pictures a couple of thoughts came to mind. First. Do all of those bikes in that 1300 class have the type of development (read: Time and $$) in them like yours Brent? There seems to be a very serious lot about their bikes. Our professional AMA Superbike series isn't that "professional" looking. (Hopefully..things are changing this year...) And Second, is Australia single handedly keeping Harris Frames in business? |

I think you might have formed that opinion from the flurry of images posted recently of Harris framed bikes. Most of them would've been Team Britain bikes brought out for the recently run International Classic at Phillip Island. |

You would have to ask them how much time and money is expended. But I do suspect that I am not the only one as there are many there that appear to be deep into it and on close inspection are very-very trick. There seems to be a level of professionalism occurring (Down Under) with the 1300 P5 class that is helping to create increased interest to all. There are many Harris framed bikes that fill this and are successful within the period rules. The T-Rex bikes for instance are a perfect example, highly developed and very professional in both appearance and performance. It is bikes and teams like this and others that are attracting interest in area and the interest of promoters.
The danger is that it doesn't get seen as a cash cow by the promoter's who then demand the rules be tweaked to allow non complying machines in for the "supposed" greater spectacle they will provide. This happened recently in the PI "Island Classic" and the British team brought some Harris framed bikes with P5 non compliant engines and some of these machines have remained in Australia and are now engaging in the local scene. No problem if they conform to pre 82 specs but some of these are running 84 year and up Yamaha engines which is a whole generational later series of power plants. Then there are the XR69 Suzuki' with late model engines fitted and these are just some of the problems on the horizon and that I don't agree with their inclusion. IMO they flatly need to be included in the up to 89 class (P6).

A short write up on the BSFOS from a few weeks ago with V&H getting a good mention and a pic gallery including Freddy Spencer if anyone is interested.

I saw that too Norm. Hopefully they'll keep the same quality. I understand the employees came with the deal too. Now, if I could just get a whole frame at Indian rupee prices. Like $500 for a whole frame kit. |

Yes he does, but if for any reason you don't get them contact me and I'll sort you out.
I should add that I send one with every shipment I make from here in NZ.

!!!!! I wrote that 2 years ago !!!! And that's a long time in racing and he could be using anything and particularly as I haven't spoken with him since then.
So I have no idea.
