Isabella is a bike NUT....sooooo what do you think...since we have beginners topics....I couldn't find an "F" but it's a Honda....maybe I can get away with bringing the big brother home too O_O......

They are easy to work on and it's a perfect learning tool for a prospective young wrench. The phones and computers and video games are more expensive and this will teach her many useful things in life compared to those. If it breaks down she can learn from dad how to fix it. (It sounded good to mom when I proposed it anyway!), And in 10 years there will be an 81' 750F with 887 motor waiting for her. Would be interesting to see a girl on the MotoGP circuit as a pilot....

Where would she ride that? Can't very well turn her out on the street with it.

You might consider one of the little CRF50 or 70 dirt bikes, with a matching big brother for one of those. Then the both of you could ride together at the local dirt bike areas. Make a picnic of it. You can make a whole day of that, if either of you can hold out that long, or just an hour or so, for starters. Either way, there's probably a lot more options for both of you to ride together on a dirt bike than a mini street bike. Kids like being in the woods.

Just something to consider.......

That's what I did with my young kids.

Either way, good for you for getting your daughter home. Congrats.

There's a beginner bike track next to my old stomping grounds at Palm Beach Intl Raceway....that's a good place to start...because of the price of real estate here the dirt bike trails are all disappearing in the name of progress....thanks for the thoughts....

I'm with jt on this one. Teach her to ride on dirt first. That is if you can. Dirt is a little more forgiving than concrete/asphalt and she's gonna go down. We all do at some point........Ask my knees and my shoulder and my wrist lol.

Yep Nathan....it's a natural progression....the younger you start them, the better their skills are....at 7 I was building mini bikes and go carts. Our neighbor owned a lawn mower repair shop do I had access to motors....the bike shop across the street provided old frames and bits....

I do agree with the dirt riding first idea. My wife wanted to ride a street bike, but I insisted that she ride dirt for a couple of years first before I could give my buy-in.

Reasoning:
*dirt bike are not nearly as expensive to repair (no body panels)
*falling in dirt is a lot less pain full then faling over on tarmac
*gives the ability to learn how a bike reacts when both wheels are NOT following the same line, tarmac is no place to be the first time a bike gets crossed up
*as said before a perfect father daughter day
*dirt bike is also something that she can play with in the backyard or some nearby field

Dirt bikes are a nice way to learn but where Wayne is, the closest place to ride dirt is a solid 2 hours away. South Florida sucks for any motorcycle riding except track. They have a couple good tracks but straight roads and no dirt to speak of.

LOVE that License Plate Larry....Larry is sadly correct....The beginner track at Palm Beach Intl. Raceway is the best place for Isabella to learn....The little pocket bike can be put in the trunk of a car hahahaha...sooooo no trailer required....
