For those that have been around this site for a while knows that John (cb1100fer) has been a huge contributor and friend of this board. You may have noticed that he hasn't participated that much in recent past, and is because he has been at his wife's side in sickness. It is with regret to inform you all that John's wife lost her battle with cancer and has past on. Please send along your well wishes to him and show some support through these tough times. John himself has been fighting the battle for 8 years now .... kick this shit in the ass John. |

I hate news like this. I don't know John but will have him in my prayers. So sorry for your loss. Cancer sucks!!!!!!! Lost my mom way too early 2 years ago to the nasty beast.
Please find some peace John and know that your wife doesn't hurt anymore.
Peace, Jim |

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
I can't begin to describe how difficult it's been to watch my wife of almost 29 years just wither away to nothing before my eyes and the helpless feelings that come with it. She was a fighter until the end and never complained but was completely selfless until her last breath. Two days before her passing she was too weak to speak and only said a dozen words all day. At one point she opens her eyes to me and says "Did you take your pills?" Always caring for everyone around her, that's the type of person she was. Thousands attended her visitation and funeral as she touched the lives of so many in her career. During the funeral procession she wanted to pass by her school on the way to the church. To my surprise there were hundreds lining the street in front of the school and as we passed dozens of balloons were released into the air to show tribute to her. Chills ran through me and I was in tears once again. She was loved by so many and will be missed by everyone......including myself most of all.
I know she's in a better place and her suffering is finally over and it's the only consolation I have. I need to keep up the good fight myself for my boys as they need me now more than ever. I was told I'd be dead a long time ago from this disease but I refuse to listen. I'm a stubborn SOB and always will be.
Thank you again.
John |

The same goes for me. It must have taken your breath away when the balloons were released and I can imagine the emotions that must have overwhelmed you at that moment. Your wife sounded like a true fighter and caretaker right up to the end. She's no longer suffering and is looking down on you with caring eyes. John, my heart goes out to you and your family in this difficult time. You know you have plenty of friends that are here for you, so don't be a stranger. Time will help ease your sadness.

Sorry about the loss sir. We've never met but cancer has taken many in my family, including my mother, and I can relate somewhat to what you're going through. God bless you and your families. Be praying for you. |

John,
I'm so sorry to hear. I hope you get little reminders and signs that she is still with you. When my dad past I had many.
Thank you for sharing your story about the procession what a touching tribute - you have me choked up as well...and have reminded us all of what's most important.
I wish you and your family all the best in this difficult time. |
