I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you I'm completely lost.
What's a doughnut case? (& does it include sprinkles) |

Sprinkles???? Is that an Australian abomination?
Doughnuts should have jam on the inside and a dusting of castersugar on the outside |

Just to the outside of where the topend oiling is bolted on. The is a mark in the case of a donut that indicates the heavy duty. |

Here's a picture that I lifted from JJAM. The donut is to the right (below in the pic) the oil port.

Jim said a non doughnut is okay for street mods and for most riders. For racing you need the doughnut case. |

Yes, it does. I have only seen non-D heads on the '80 900c. |

Head with a D shaped exhaust port rather than a round one. The centre code will be 461 as in 12010-461-750. This head was first used on the 82 CB900's in Australia.
I also have a set of NOS silver 81 CB900 crankcases that I'm sure are doughnut cases. |

Maybe I would be lucky and my 1981 USA is a doughnut case? I am not sure what I am looking for in the pic Cary posted. Can anyone be more specific on where exactly the doughnut is? |
