Hi there
I'm trying to decide if I should buy an 1100.
I have a 900 that is not on the road yet, but I would love to hear from anyone who owns both bikes if they have a favorite and why.
My riding is usually cruising pretty close to the speed limit on weekends away or all day rides, with no commuting.
By no means am I trying to stir shit but I would love to hear opinions to help me decide what to do.

I have both. I would say the 900 handles better but that may be due to a combination of tires and sacked suspension on the 1100 (although the springs on my 11 are not as sacked as the ones on my 9 before I changed them out for new ones).
1100 has way more power and feels a bit more high strung while 900 feels more reserved. |

I have both, ride both, and love them both. The 900F is more reserved - the 1100F has a serious grunt and noticeably more power. If I could only keep one then it would have to be the 1100F, but it would break my heart to let the 900F go. I just rode it the other day for the first time this spring and was grinning from ear to ear.
Definitely the red 1100F if you buy one... |

It's really very simple, why complicate things? Buy one of course, that eliminates the quandary of indecision. |

I have both and they each have their attributes but if you're looking for shear power and performance I'd suggest a RED 1100F...which is faster than the blue.....

I've got a built 900, a stock 1100 and an 81 stock
CBX (stock for now). both fours will outrun the six
and the 900 will almost keep up with 1100 ! I'm
building an 1123 (that I need like a hole in the head) |

I own both my 900 has been my baby since i was 16 and last year i got an 1100f and the power is a noticable diffrence. |

I have both, restored 900 and US1100f love the 1100 for sound and grunt, but the 900 handles a little bit better and sportier feel . not parting with either but plan a 985 mixed up version. good luck with your decision.

I think I want the bike, but a problem is getting it shipped. Out of 3 companies only one returned my call and she was a little abrupt.
I would be buying this bike with out looking at it, but the dude selling it sounds alright on the phone.
It is a bike that I could get on and ride which appeals to me compared to a few of my other bikes that still need work to get on the road. (how many bikes is to many?)
I think it has about 80 or 90 thousand km's on it so maybe the engine needs a freshen up.
Mmm I'll keep thinking and come up with an answer sooner or latter

I hear you Wayne and agree. I guess I was talking a bit like a wife might talk to her friends.
She gave up haseling me ages ago. She may not agree with my theory of bike owner ship but at least she doesn't say any thing to me about it any more.
I may need to sell something but that brings up more problems of what bike I wouldn't miss.
I do have an 1100 in storage that I got from a wrecker and although the engine turns over,it doesn't run.
Maybe I could buy this one that is running and sell the one in storage which would save me a bit of mucking around getting it running.

I had both a 900F and 1100F at the same time before I sold them to become a Sport Tourer.
They both are fun. I did like a lot of guys here and put 1100F wheels and swingarm on my 900F. Made all the difference in how the 900F rode & handled. |

Mate I am waiting to hear from Rexe about his bike for sale and if that works out then my one will be for sale.
My one cost me $2500 which the dude who sold it to my says he will pay me to get it back depending on cash flow at the time.
When I bought it off him he had it in the workshop trying to get it running. I went there to buy 1100 barrels but left with the barrels and the bike.
I wouldn't sell it for under $2500 to start with and then see how things go.
