I asked Bill - aka sonicrete to run a little engine seminar in the fall - anyone interested in being involved in a trek to see the grand wizard.....easy Bill just kidding here....dates in the works - perhaps september or october....he still has to agree - just asking to see who is interested.

I'm interested - October would be better for me, but I might be able to swing a September date.

Yes but bring your leathers,it is black and 1/4 mile long. We will take it to the strip and you can ride the black bike.

This bike has carried a 250+ # rider to quicker than 9.90. Billy has run 9.40 on it.

I have a problem posting pictures. If I eventually do it I will just overload this web site when a picture is worth a thousand words.

I was dedicated to this DOHC motor. I used to have a 27 ft motorhome as tow and a 24 ft aluminum trailer with the bike lift and shop inside.

I ran a three bike team of drag bikes. Billy my one son rode one,the silver bike. I rode another one. I had a black bike that several others have been rider basically as co-driver going to events. In the same trailer depending was my 1100 or other as licensed transportation. At least two pit pikes and several bicycles. Also spare parts and had racks made to carry spare engines.

The old bike I rode was the most obsolete chassis of the bunch. The silver bike was a junior Pro Stock chassis I got from John Sands. Cut down seat position, etc that sits so low I could not fold my legs up to reach the pegs, thus Billy got drafted to be rider at 16 years old. The black bike was "suppose" to be the improved version of my old bike. By the time I got done it was just more comfortable for me to ride my old bike than the black bike. Seating positon and foot pegs are very close to a stock 750/900/1100.

The black bike is the easiest for me to teach someone to ride. High "G" acceleration will try to pull you right off the bike, thus the step on the seat. I have two different seats that change the way it feels to tailor it for the rider.

This nice and easy after you learn to do the burnout and decide how much accelration you can take. You get the tire hotter to get more traction and adjust the launch rpm to match.

Real basic you hold the throttle full open on the start line. The 2-step holds the engine at the rpm you want to launch. On launch the ignition heals up and goes to what the engine can pull. At selected RPM a big red light hits you in the eyes and push the button to shift. At the finish line shut it off and stop. Real easy.

The trick was not just riding the bike, but getting a good reaction time and beating the other guy but that is another story.

Each to his own on the pouring money down the drain. I own a 900 and an 1100F and I'm a big proponent of resto-mods, to a degree. It seems that at a certain point, your gonna run into diminishing returns. For a few grand I bought a '88 CBR1000F that can run circles around the 1100F in every area of performance.

It all depends on what you are lookin for as far as "power". I have an 81 750F with wiseco 823 kit, 900 cams, gixxer carbs and the 1100 clutch mod. Bike is super reliable and pulls like a freight train!! Any modern bike will out perform the old CB but I could care less. Plenty of power to have fun and have the classic "muscle bike" look. Cool

Its not about raw HP for me,, the CB - CBX have a classic muscle bike look the modern plastic wrapped aero egg Busa's R1's etc can never match. Take all the decals off 4 different brands of 2015 600cc bikes, paint them all the same color and it would be hard to impossible for the average person to tell the Honda from the Yamaha from the Suzuki from the Kawasaki

Jeremy, don't despair..It's all good.. When properly tuned, my CB750F put down 65hp on the dyno. This is with my BST34 carbs, 900 cams & a Vance & Hines exhaust.. This kept me dead even with SV650s, down the straights at my Track Days....

What new bikes these day don't have is the Classic bike cool factor..

Yes, 900 or an 1100 motor will easily fit your 750 frame.. You know my bike now has an 1100 motor. I'm thinking you read my post about that.

Awesome. Your right bike isnt tuned well at all. Once the carbs are in and I tune it im sure it will be a blast to ride. If i want more power can always swap to a 1100 motor since it fits. 😜
