Oh man, does that bring back memories... I worked a year for a sewage/cesspool company to pay for tuition at university. The stench would seem to "ooze" out my pores for days after exposure. Explains why I hate working on old plumbing. Too f'ing messy.

You should have paid a college kid that was paying for tuition to come in there and fix it while you took your wonderful wife out to breakfast. I'm all about fixing stuff myself but I might would have passed on that is one.....

Funny Larry, My septic tank backed up on Friday morning. The basement bath room was a mess. YUUUUUKKKK!!!!

I feel your pain brother. On a better note I bored a set of cases and got me rod length figured out and where I will have the pins located in my pistons. It was a huge day.

Peace, Jim

I spent 3hrs. blowing and shoveling snow. Then walked the dog. This called for a long rest with a nice cup of tea and a big cigar while I read all the wisdom on this Forum.

Ugh!!! Man I'm glad I didn't have that job today. Not an easy day for me though. Had to break up a tile floor cemented to a concrete slab. Swinging a sledge and using a cold chisel all day. Freaking thin set is a PITA. I'm whipped right now.

I think a nice shower and a cold beer aught to make me fell much better. Very Happy

Dave

No just a dusting. I was making an egotistical comment about the wisdom part Wink. And that was before I got on CTDY. Laughing

We got 8" overnight, expecting a possible Nor ester on Monday night, the weather people say it could be a big one. I'm ready for spring.

You're right Norm, I'd like very much to move to a more temperate climate, but I have family and responsibilities to consider.

In another thread you stated that you'd rather live in a sewer than in NYC. As the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for. Smile

Chico, I know what you mean, it is just generation after generation stay in these conditions because it just is too hard to break the cycle, it is a tough way to live and I admire your toughness, I couldn't do it

That's just wrong!

I spent Saturday working on our home renovation again. Every Saturday. This week we doubled every other joist under the dining room. (called sistering). This will eliminate any bounce in the floor. I love carpentry. Wiring isn't too bad either, but I don't know about plumbing.

I know plumbing probably isn't too difficult. I have done some. Replaced the pressure tank and valve last summer. And put in a new water heater last winter. An LP direct vent. I just don't like having plumbing fail.

unpleasant task.
I had to replace my septic pump last winter- those pumps are NOT cheap! $1300 when all said and done.

cbxdog, is that an access to your septic tank in your basement? I've never seen such a thing before....

I helped clear a drain line blockage at a friend's house then pruned trees in my yard.

Not a septic tank,, but we have a toilet in our basement, when there are toilets below the sewer line since waste can't flow to the sewer line by gravity, the waste has to be pumped upwards into the sewer.

Saturday morning was pretty typical - I finished approx. 25 bike parts. That included some GL1000 valve covers and emblems for a custom restoration. They came out pretty cool and it was nice to do something a little different for a change.
